"Complementary and Alternative Medicine Treatments and Therapies" is an engrossing example of a paper on complementary and alternative therapies. Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) comprises treatment that is not supported by scientific facts or researches. Complementary medicine and therapy are used together with conventional treatment in a belief while alternative medicine is a combination of medical practices that have no scientific backing but have proved to be effective in treatment. In my view, CAM treatment and therapy form a fundamental part of the entire medical and health system in the united state of America. For a very long time, many people have depended on this form of treatment and in most cases, the treatment has turned to be quite effective. Accordingly, I opine that CAM treatments and therapy such as traditional medicines, naturopathy, homeopathy, and energy medicines have been relied upon by many Americans. In addition, faith healing like the one witnessed in many Christian churches has been very effective to people. Significantly, I find the form of treatment is inseparable from human nature. However, I suggest that more resources in research should be allocated to CAM treatment and therapy to curb a few incidences where their application has turned to be lethal.

The event that has shaped my opinion is the fact that CAM Treatments and Therapies have been used since ancient times with the majority of their results being positive. It is considerable to argue that this form of treatment is primarily to the American medical and health system. (Cristobel 142) supports my opinion by stating that before a person is delivered to a medical doctor one more forms of CAM Treatments and Therapies. For example, before a patient is taken to the hospital, his or her relatives will conduct a prayer for them, or first aid will be given. In this case, these observations strongly substantiate the necessity of CAM Treatments and Therapies. Lastly, when one compares the ancient health system and the current sophisticated and state of the art medical facilities, you will come to learn that the earlier system gives longer life than the current one. Again, since a large portion is based on faith, then it is very easy to dispense medication without much follow-up.

Currently, I cannot consider CAM Treatments and Therapies. This is because the scientific community and researchers have criticized alternative medicine as being based on quackery, misleading statements, pseudoscience, fraud ant-science or grounded on poor scientific methodology. Accordingly, Promoting alternative medicine and therapy has been referred to as unethical and dangerous.  In addition, the scientist has dismissed that alternative medicines do not exist; only medicines that work and those that do not work. As such CAM Treatments and Therapies are categorized as medicines that do not work. Since science has always been backed by intensive research and groundbreaking findings, I choose to go with the current health system to avoid the uncertainty surrounding the CAM Treatments and Therapies. However, I opine that more resources need to be allocated on research to deduce the authenticity of CAM Treatments and Therapies or otherwise.
