'Most Prevalent Health Issues: HIV/AIDS' is an excellent example of a paper on the immune system.
The chosen problem is communicable diseases particularly of HIV/ AIDS in the community. This is a health concern due to the increase in the statistics if the disease within the community and a recorded number of deaths and especially among the married population (McKenzie & Pinger, 2014). The need for the program is assessed through the medical records statistics about the prevalence of the disease as well as the death records from the disease within a given period of time. The prevalence rate from the two types of data will determine the level of need of the program.
The data will reveal the age groups and social status as the basic information of those affected and those who have succumbed to the disease. The goal of the program is to reduce the rate of new infections and reinfections within the population. This will be achieved through teaching on safe sexual practices, distribution of condoms within the area as well as teaching on how to live positively for those infected (Peterson & DiClemente, 2010). With a reduction of statistics of new infections and reinfections, then the prevalence rate can eventually reduce.
Getting people to support the proposal will not be an easy thing and hence I will use the local leaders and leaders of social groups who know a lot of community members and they command respect within their given groups to accept and assist in convincing the locals the importance of the proposal to them and their offspring as well as the future of the community. Teachers, doctors and other professionals aware of the negative effects of the communicable disease in question can also assist in persuading the locals to support the proposal as it will be a worthy cause. Assurance of discreetness of the program is also bound to ensure that support is provided as it will dispel their fear.
The program will be beneficial to all people not only the target audience. It is therefore important to use a marketing method that will not only reach the target audience but the rest of the community as well. The most realistic marketing is a door to door campaign. This method is not only discreet in as far as those already infected and do not wish others to know is concerned but it will also ensure that it will reach almost all the community members. This method will however take time and will require the time of the marketing to be properly timed such as during the evenings after people are from work and school or during weekends when the majority are relaxing at home (Hillestad & Berkowitz, 2012).
Implementation will be in phases starting with a pilot project to test the marketing and then make changes to improve before the real project is begun. Repeat in households where people were not found will form the third phase and the last phase will be a follow-up. Feedback will be gathered through the same medical records to indicate whether the prevalence rate has reduced or not (Gudda, 2011). Data on new cases of patients with STIs will provide an indication of whether safe sexual practices education was successful or not.
