'Arthritis: Treatment and Management' is a good example of a paper on the musculoskeletal system.
Mr. XYZ has been a patient for the last week. He stated that he had high sweating from the last 2 months. Moreover, he has a mild vision from the last month. However, from last week's observation, it has been noted that his vision has become poorer. He also briefed that from yesterday, he had instances where he had double vision. In addition, it is also notable that the patient also has arteries swelling on two sides of his forehead. Moreover, he conveyed that on several occasions of having a severe headache. This has been from the last 2 to 3 months (Columbus 219). This also has been increasing significantly. He also complained that the headache is more prominent in the forehead region. Furthermore, through examination, it is diagnosed that the patient also has a mild fever. In insisting regarding his mild fever, the patient stated of the seldom occasions of high fever. In addition, the patient complained of the unexpected and unexplained weight loss from the last month. He also complained regarding this a week before. In this regard, on examination, it is noted that he has lost more 3kgs of weight from the last week. Besides these, it is also observed that the patient has some hair loss as compared to the past week. On insisting the same, the patient too claimed of the notable hair loss from the last 15 days (Columbus 216). Furthermore, the patient also complained of the painful response to pressure and chronic extensive pain. These indicate that the patient has Fibromyalgia. Moreover, he also complained that on rare occasions he has pain in his jaws from the last 4 to 5 days. This pain is more prominent at the time of chewing foods and while opening mouth wide (Columbus 208).
EVALUATION
On evaluating the patient based on his complaints and through observations, it is expected that the patient is facing arthritis. It is also noted that the patient is having a reduced pulse rate. This rate has decreased from last week's observations. On the last week's suggestion to study the erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells (RBCs), it is noted that the patient has also higher production rate of RBCs. This eventually suggests the increased possibility of arthritis. Although in the last week of observation, it was considered of the possibility of fever with viral infections and others, but evaluating the recent observations, complaints and study reports, the possibility of arthritis has increased (Columbus 128).
DIAGNOSIS
In order to confirm the possibility of arthritis of the patient, I as a chiropractor have performed a diagnosis study. Ultrasonography, which is commonly used across the world to determine arthritis among the patients in the early stage, is also used here. The report suggests that the patient has evidence of arthritis. However, he is at his very early stage of this disease (Columbus 29).
TREATMENT
For effective treatment of arthritis, the patient consumed Oral Glucocorticoid (Steroid) medication. One of such medicine commonly available in the market is Prednisone. Regular consumption of this medicine for 3 or more months was believed to cure the disease effectively. In addition, it was also recommended to the patient that he must intake Cytotoxic medication, only if the situation worsens. Moreover, it was suggested that the patient must use hot and cold treatment and acupuncture (Columbus 168).
