"Treatment Errors" is an exceptional example of a paper on medical ethics.
Poor communication led to the wrong treatment of a patient diagnosed with typhoid. The doctor admitted the patient in order to assess his progress continuously. Therefore, a nurse was assigned to administer the relevant care that the patient’s needs. The communication problem appeared after the doctor used the wrong communication style to issue instructions to the nurse. The doctor’s instructions to the nurse created confusion leading to the wrong prescriptions administered to the patient.

During a doctor’s random inspections of his patients, he discovered that the patient’s health was deteriorating.  The investigation into the matter unraveled that the nurse has been using the wrong prescription on the patient. When the communication channels in the company are lost, discourse is lost, and the strategic lines become unclear. Poor communication with employees makes them understand things differently (Guffey & Loewy, 2013).

 Consequently, the lack of common discourse will confuse the workers and errors will be enormous. Poor communication breeds a culture based on distrust. The nurse understood the instructions differ from reality. The resulting impact was a risk to the patient’s life. If the doctor had not discovered the problem early enough, the patient would have died. If no one is certain what the reality is, the company suffers a climate of suspicion. The employees will suffer from a lack of connection and credibility. After the nurse was summoned, she became de-motivated, and her productivity in the organization dropped. Poor communication leads to de-motivation and a loss in productivity. When employees feel that they are not informed about what is happening or the proper channels of doing things they develop a cold attitude towards work (Guffey & Loewy, 2013).

When employees feel that their opinions and ideas do not matter, they start losing interest and passion in what they do which leads to less productivity (Guffey & Loewy, 2013). Poor communication skills lead to inadequate handling of important projects in the organization. The results are detrimental because the capabilities of the organization’s innovation and ability to make positive contributions to society get undermined. The ability to innovate goes hand in hand with the capacity to communicate directions as well as issuing new and exciting ideas.

 On the same note, inefficiency arises due to poor communication. If the nurse and the doctor engaged in healthy communication, the errors and inefficiencies arising thereafter would be easy to contain. The medical descriptions and prescriptions were vague suggesting that they required explanation or clarification. The doctor’s speech was uninformed leading to adverse effects on the workflow in the organization (Guffey & Loewy, 2013).

Effective communications are crucial to the company’s success. Effective communication allows all the employees and the management to perform the assigned tasks within the objectives of the institution. The value of employees and their skills appreciate in cases where effective communication strategies are deployed. Improper implementation of clear communication practices leads to disagreements, blame-games, mistakes, and loss of trust from other organizational stakeholders (Guffey & Loewy, 2013).

 Employees lack enthusiasm in doing their assignments for the benefit of the organization and other stakeholders. These results in stakeholders questioning the value of services and products offered within the institution. Effective communication enables the employees and the relevant stakeholders to avoid brushing shoulders on simple issues (Guffey & Loewy, 2013).
