The leading cause of death in teens after motor vehicle accidents is suicide. In an argument by King, Foster & Rogalski (2013) four out of five teens attempt suicide after displaying clear warning signs. The trend is increasing after numerous reported cases of adolescent depression. Huddle & Schleifer (2011) assert that most suicide cases in adolescents are prompted by increased responsibility during the transition into adulthood. The author further points out that the lack of proper social structures has also increased the prevalence of suicide in adolescents. However, with proper analysis of signs and symptoms appropriate and efficient treatment frameworks could be developed.

One major factor that may cause suicide in adolescents has increased levels of depression. Depression can be referred to as increased pressure of performing tasks or fit in unpleasant situations. For instance, adolescents in family or relationship troubles have a high probability of committing suicide. Another significant cause is mental disorders. Severe mental illness blended with the pressure of adolescent life can easily lead to suicide. This leads to the excessive inability of the brain to cope with pressure and life demands (Cholbi, 2011). Drugs and substance abuse also influence numerous cases of suicide.

In an argument by Huddle & Schleifer (2011) if a person develops risk-taking behavior they should be monitored closely for suicide attempts. In addition, if an adolescent makes remarks that may depict their dissatisfaction with life, they may be showing symptoms of suicide. Another symptom is separation from friends, family, and relatives. King, Foster & Rogalski (2013) assert that the relationship with social circles enables a person to cope with the pressure as well as seek help. Another sign of suicide is changing in personal hygiene and behavior. Suicide attempts are preceded by behavioral problems. For instance, a person with the intent to commit suicide may display unusual violent behavior.   

Before developing a treatment framework, numerous factors should be taken into account. For instance, the medical history and tolerance to medications of the client should be considered. In addition, the extent of a suicide attempt and intent should be determined. The factors determine the effectiveness of the treatment framework. Primarily, the affected person should be provided with an environment where they could be comfortable and open up on their feelings (Cholbi, 2011). The intervention should include distant relatives or close family members. Therapy should then be considered. Therapy should be provided at an individual and the family level. This allows for accurate problem detection. For severe suicide attempt cases, the affected should be taken into medication or psychological treatment (Cholbi, 2011).

Numerous state resources have been allocated to develop community counseling institutions. In addition, state rehabilitation centers provide therapy for depression that may lead to suicide. In an instance where my client requires an alternative to state or community intervention, I may consider seeking interaction with a neutral person for my client. For instance, if my client plays football, his coach could provide a neutral source of empowerment. The coach creates an environment that the client may feel comfortable to open up on their feeling and emotions (King, Foster & Rogalski, 2013). In addition, distant relatives such as grandparents would also increase the suitability of the client to share their feelings.
