  • To explore forces driving change in healthcare delivery

Overview

In the medical description, the term care providers can be simply described as individuals or groups who efforts towards the delivery of quality and effective healthcare services to the patients who are in desperate need of it. In the current medical scenario, there occur multiple aspects which are needed to be changed or upgraded for guaranteeing better delivery of medical service. However, this requires significant levels of understanding from the patient’s sides as well (Goodman et al, 2013).

Action

The provided case projects a significant concern regarding the burden which a nation might face with the increased numbers of mental disorder cases. The gravity of these kinds of moral treatments was felt long back but not much seems to be improvised since though. Thus by taking into consideration the present medical scenario in context to the treatment of mental disorder cases, it can be stated that certain changes are required within the system (Sultz & Young, 2010).

The below provided pie chart description projects the percentile description of the global mental disorder case types. Based on the evaluation of the disorder types, it can be stated that the emphasis and the effectiveness of using firm moral treatment are much more in comparison to that of medication therapy (Sultz & Young, 2010).

It has been ascertained from the further observation that the premature death rate of the patients suffering from mental disorders is witnessed by a gradual rising phase. Reasons for such upheaval are identified to be related to a lack of healthy lifestyle opportunities and inappropriate medical care facilities. Thus, as a corrective measure, the mental disorder cases should reckon as a global priority and effective steps are needed to be taken accordingly (Patel & Saxena, 2014).

This concept has already attained high levels of priority on a global perspective. For instance, matters of mental disorders are currently discussed worldwide in multiple health-related forums. However, much emphasis needs to be put in this context and apply internationally set guidelines in every available medical facility of all the nations. In this way, high levels of improvisation can be brought about in context to effective care delivery for the mental disorder cases (Patel & Saxena, 2014). Adding to this, a firm understanding and knowledge base is needed to be created for evaluating the social and health needs of such patients. Effective training of the medical support staff in terms of handling such patients is also an appropriate necessity for improvising the service quality. The concept of collaborative care should highly empathize where the medical executives and the patient’s family needs to pay an equal amount of efforts for soothing the stressful situation of the patient (Patel & Saxena, 2014)

As from a generalized point of view, it can be stated that the issues related to mental disorder need to be dealt with with utmost concern. Adding to that, the above-mentioned change factors need to be brought about with the prime intention of improvising the treatment delivery quality of the medical facilities. Efforts are also needed to be made in context to effective understanding of the issues faced by the patients and steps should be taken regarding how it can be solved.
