Cancer Cancer Introduction The article en d “Differential Control of Growth, Apoptotic Activity, and Gene Expression in Human Breast Cancer Cells by Extracts Derived from Medicinal Herbs Zingiber officinale” written by Elkady et al. (2012) discusses gene expressions, control of growth and apoptotic activity of cells within the condition of human breast cancer. The author has used statistical analysis to conduct the research. It should be noted that this paper critically assesses the working and implication of the research article under review. Background The authors of the research have addressed the issue properly within the context of the paper. The authors to reflect the issue and provide the significance of the research have used a number of researches. The problem statement underlying human breast cancer and growth of cell has been clearly stated within the first section of the research. In order to make the research much understandable, the authors have provided a number of definitions for the keywords used repeatedly in the paper. It is easier to understand the hypothesis of the research article because a very precise and brief title has been used for the research. In simpler words, it can be said that the title of the research clearly addresses the issue in hand. Most notably, the author has stated a number of assumptions in the paper, as well, which forms the basis for hypothesis generalization (Elkady et al., 2012). Aim and Hypothesis The aim of the research i.e. examination of antiproferative potentiality of the ginger plant that was collected from general market of KSA to understand the pattern of breast cancer cell and for its treatment has been well stated in the paper. This is a very effective way to present the rationale of the study. The authors with the help of diagrams and relevant figures have provided in-depth briefing. (Elkady et al., 2012) Methodology The research methodology, which was applied by the authors in the research article, is statistical in nature. The authors have repeated the experiments five times, which has been further presented in the paper with the help of mean values. A great background has been created at the beginning of the methodology section to allow readers understand the basis of research tools. For instance, DNA fragmentation assay, apoptotic assay, reverse transcription, etc. are some of the methods, which have been used by the authors in order to get the artifact (ginger plant) for the research. In order to create a specific link between the results and data collected, a number of researches were used to backup the information. However, there is a weakness in the research method of the research under review. It has been noted that the authors failed to mention the existing disconfirming evidence. In other words, it can be said that the exceptions and cases are yet to be mentioned by the authors. In addition, the authors have clearly noted that data collected was being re-checked for its reliability. Usage of different assay methods allowed the authors to re-check their data collection procedures (Elkady et al., 2012). Findings/Results The article is clearly defined using examples and references sufficiently in order to support the results obtained from the research. The script of the report is apparent and understandable due to the detailed facts and figures given. There is no clue of preconception or suggestion provided in the article as it can be clearly seen that the research has been conducted through various manners before stating the result. The result shows that the research is complete and the findings are applicable and no requirement of further research has been indicated. There are no alternatives given for the implications, which show that the findings of the study are inclusive. The studies from other reports have been taken into consideration however; no particular research or author has been specified. The article mainly reflects the findings of the research done by the authors of the article under review. There are no limitations can be found in the study as the researches have been carried in details, giving a comprehensive understanding of the methods applied and the results obtained. Conclusion The article has been concluded in proper, relevant manner relating in detail with the evidence found. The conclusions provide the explanation of the facts taken out from the study. Conclusion has been discussed in a generalized way representing the results that have been obtained from the research. The information provided in the article is well explained in details through various facts and figures, diagrams and statistics (Elkady et al., 2012). The evidence provided in the article is well supported through the use of different studies, sampling and quantitative studies. The findings of the article suggest that the use of the antiproliferation through the induction of ginger has been suggested to prevent and colony formation of the breast cancer cells. In addition, the extracts of gingers can also play a significant role to overcome the chemotherapy and as a therapeutic agent for the breast cancer (Elkady et al., 2012). Text Analysis It should be noted that the tone, which was used by the authors in the research, is critical in nature. The targeted audiences of the research would not be general audiences because it is directed towards medical practitioners (Elkady et al., 2012). General readers might need further research to understand the keywords. However, there are a number of definitions that have been given by the author but the fact remains that research methodology is medicinal and need understanding of context (Elkady et al., 2012). Analyzing the information in the article, can be perceived that the study has mainly focused on the use of ginger extracts as a cure to the proliferation of cancer, perhaps there are several other studies that suggest the use of different medicines to prevent Cancer. The study can be effective for the future research to overcome the chemotherapy and the other therapies of the cancer, whereas the idea supported by the author has been well supported and have no conflict emerged from the other authors regarding the research.
