Indeed, it is true that exercise can help you in making labor a whole lot easier. It can be stated that it is a race women are running in. Determination, focus, and stamina are all required for bearing a child in the stomach. Exercise in normal pregnancy will always prove to be beneficial as the strength and energy levels will all help you to cope with the pain of labor (Kader & Naim-Shuchana 2014).  Low impact aerobics and walking regularly is always considered a good option for the ladies. Experts state that parental yoga should be done. Delivery and labor pain is expected to reduce to a great extent through this (Guszkowska 2014). In addition to that gestational diabetes can be prevented from happening by exercising during pregnancy (Redden, LaMonte, Freudenheim & Rudra 2011). Gestational diabetes can cause the baby to grow large in size and this increases the difficulties faced when giving birth. Pre-eclampsia can also be avoided by the use of exercise. If pre-eclampsia is not controlled then the blood pressure may increase. This could result in induced labor or cesarean section may have to be done (Kasawara et al, 2012). 
 There is no doubt in the fact that exercise imparts a positive effect during pregnancy as well as helps during labor. Those women who exercise during their pregnancy tend to experience few musculoskeletal problems. These include reduced back pain and minimized pelvic pain. These two issues are very common during pregnancy including women who exercise also face an increased maternal cardiovascular fitness, well being, and body image. An important effect of exercise during pregnancy is that it aids the woman by not only reducing the delivery time but also minimizing the risk of complications. Another important effect of mild exercise is that the fetus of exercising mothers tends to be more tolerant of the stress of labor and is less irritable as well as more alert in the postpartum period (Blum, Beaudoin & Caton-Lemos 2004). One other point that supports the fact that exercise helps in making labor easy is that mothers who exercise tend to exhibit a shorter labor time and are less likely to require any kind of medical interventions during the labor procedure. These include the need for C sections as well. Women who develop a habit of exercising show better pregnancy. This is said in terms of the fact that the pregnancy is healthier and comfortable physically throughout the duration of pregnancy, and even afterward. By exercising regularly, they develop a sense of tolerance and thus become better at enduring the stress and pain of labor. Chances are that the mother goes through the entire period of labor without using any medicine or by needing a very limited amount of medicines. Thus stretching is considered best for later ease in labor as well as delivery. Furthermore, with regular periods of exercise, women recuperate faster after the delivery of the baby. This is true even if they underwent a C-section. apart from the effect exercise has on the labor, exercise also benefits the mother in that the mother gains less weight during the entire duration of pregnancy.
