Extract of sample "Role of Federal Governments in Global Health Quality"

"Role of Federal Governments in Global Health Quality" is a great example of a paper on the health system.
Different governments in dissimilar countries have roles that they consider more than the rest; however, this is determined by the country’s economic development status, the common ailments in the country and the per capita income of its citizens.

Considerably, there are key roles that every federal government is expected to play. The key roles of national governments include; providing the target funding to support the development of product and service innovation at junctures where private funding is inadequate, facilitating collaboration by setting standards for information exchange and leading cross-sector initiatives and developing regulations and policies that incentivize innovation, and promote the dissemination and widespread use of models, products and technology and products that demonstrate measurable gains in healthcare quality, efficiency and outcomes (Stribly &Fritz 1).

Role of Non-governmental agencies in global healthcare quality

Internationally, there has been a constant increase in the number of NGOs/ Civil Society Organizations that take on roles and participate in achieving tasks once managed utterly by states and international state initiatives; moreover, some NGOs are in relation with the World Health Organization (WHO) i.e. ISPRM – aiming at attaining ‘health-for-all-goals’ (Reinhardt 1).

The core objectives of NGOs in conjunction with WHO play include; promoting their policies, strategies and programs through implementing them for a global quality healthcare initiative. Regular roles of international NGOs include a contribution to world public opinion on health, enhancement of public goods and creation of social capital, advocacy of minority and powerless majority groups, and facilitating translational research.

Role of health services organizations in global health care quality

Troubling health care conditions in almost all states tend to draw policymakers, business leaders and health care experts who search for viable ways to reform the system; however, the failure of the health systems is reflected on the healthcare organizations. Nonetheless, the HCOs play foremost roles like guaranteeing access to and controlling the costs of health care, providing high-tech solutions and procedures as a form of their services, and balancing cost and quality.

Emphasis on Improving Access and Containing Cost

Over the years, many countries including the US have put a lot of effort on research so as to come up with ways that will counter the increasing cost of health care services and at the same time augment the quality of the services. However, these efforts have been failing terribly, with the costs alone increasing but the quality stays the same (Brennan 1).

Extensively, there is still a need for the emphasis on improving access and containing cost; since this is actually the root of most of the problems experienced by health care in most countries. If the costs are increased and the quality improved the access of the services will certainly be affected; moreover, higher health care costs directly cause increases in health insurance premiums (Oregon 1). Additionally, healthcare suppliers reallocate noteworthy costs to the business society and clients as a result of under- reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid which is essentially a hidden tax.

Resultantly, high cost of health benefits makes it more expensive for businesses to compete in a global market, reducing funds for business investment, contributing to the poor employee and dependent health hence affecting productivity and crowding out needed public investment in education and other decisive services.
