"Myths and Facts of Weight Bias" is an interesting example of a paper on metabolic problems.
Weight bias is something overweight people in society face daily. Bene posits that the obesity level in children and adults doubled while in teenagers’ obesity levels tripled since 2010 (2013). Despite the increased level of obesity, most people associate being overweight with laziness, eating a lot, unpopular and antisocial. Bene exclusively explains the myths and facts surrounding weight prejudice (2013). Therefore, the cause of overweight could be genetic complexity and not caused by laziness and eating junk as many people think. Moreover, overweight does not mean a person is unhealthy because slim people can also be unhealthy (Bene, 2013). Weight prejudice is rampant and no person thinks the prejudice against weight is a dreadful experience to the victims. Consequently, the notion that teasing overweight people will cause weight loss is absurd because the stigma only brings a negative impact to the overweight person and may lead to depression. Therefore, creating more awareness in schools, homes, and healthcare institutions will minimize the level of stigmatization faced by overweight people in society.

Weight bias is detrimental to overweight people because overweight people seemed not valued and respected by others. Weight bias lowers person self-esteem and the overweight person may fear public appearance to avoid the stigma. Bene in the video clip, Myth and Facts gets negative comments from the fellow students about her weight leading to shedding of tears (2013). Even though an overweight person eats healthy, that remains inappreciable, the comments sarcastically relating to the person’s weight. Weight bias leads to poor performance in overweight students because of the daily criticism experiences about their weight hence, interfering with the concentration of the overweight students in studies. Weight bias pushes a person to b anti-social because the overweight person feels no one will tease them when solitary. This is not healthy especially among children because social life helps in improving a person's personality and attitude towards life. Also, weight bias may be a source of anorexia in a person even though overweight hence causing the person to have health problems.

Health professionals should be keen in address when interacting with overweight people to avoid perpetuating weight prejudice. Therefore, the first step is that health professionals should not associate the weight problems with a certain group of people. They explain that most health professionals are less equipped to handle patients with obese problems leading to some associating the obese individual with their background (2010). Secondly, the creation of awareness about weight bias and the ways health professionals can be the source of the stigma. Thus, awareness of weight bias will enhance the good treatment of obese patients (Schvey, 2010). The last step will have rules and guidelines of health professionals in all health care institutions. The rules will ensure good treatment of overweight people by the professionals hence reducing the possibility of perpetuated weight stigmatization from health professionals.
