'The Concept of Scarcity and the Goal of Maximizing Satisfaction' is a wonderful example of a paper on the health system.
Scarcity is a term, which means insufficiency of amount or supply. There are lots of human needs and wants, which are limited and unlimited to be accomplished. This is a state or form of a society in which society has inadequate dynamic resources to accomplish the unlimited desires and needs is known as scarcity. And the goal of maximizing satisfaction tells us how to maximize the aims of gratification.

There are lots of medicines into the hospitals, which are to be used around the globe around $100 million a year. All the system of medical stores is tracked by the automated systems that usually permit the reorders when the supply runs low. These automated systems are designed for assisting hospitals for purchasing and storing the costs of unused vials and pills. They do not work if it is undefined till the next consignment come in. There are lots of medicines that make the lists of drugs in short stock, like infection treatments, diarrhoea pills and drugs for nutrition as well as leukaemia and breast cancer treatments. This growing scarcity of disinfected and injectable drugs is one of the major problems challenging clinics and hospitals around the globe. More than 1000 hospitals were surveyed by many scientists and medical students, which have the aims and goals for monitoring patients safely. Lots of respondents said that they had to buy the drugs from the grey market and 10% reported about the side effects or the other problems from these drugs. Those hospitals, which are purchasing from the vendor of the grey market, especially, which are unlicensed, they are taking risks because those drugs could not refrigerate properly (Yukhananov, 2012).

We use to see daily that the industries were blamed who left only a handful of generic producing of these drugs. Few drugmakers have been overwhelmed by producing problems that have shut down many plants or manufacturing lines. They have to practice and improve in preparing for an unexpected calamity. The goals should be maintained for maximizing the satisfaction; therefore, meanwhile, there are many organizations, which are guided by the pharmacy leaders. These guidelines need to be followed, which will help in managing the complex problem (Birt, Janes and Kokko, 2009).

Needs to identify the shortage of drugs, a key person should maintain a shortage of drugs. A purchasing agent should be a pharmacist so he could find the problem of shortage easily. If the agent is not a pharmacist then he has to work with the aid agencies to whom the work is assigned in evaluating the clinical impact of the shortage of handling the problems. Once a problem is identified, first call the producer for more information about that shortage. The most important thing is that research the information of the drug uses that which is the lowest optimal. Research or find the suggestions for alternatives from different websites, professors, literature and listserve, which actually use these products.

For satisfaction, needs to establish a network for the shortage of drugs with other healthcare dealers or providers. Control a structural position on substitute suppliers as well. The decisions of these problems are difficult to make under pressure, thus the position of an organization must be well known and documented. It should monitor the adverse events that are associated with a shortage of drugs (Yukhananov, 2012). It should utilize the errors, reporting the systems, as well as chart review focus, gathered meetings, discussions, rounds or other means of things to learn about the hazardous situations.
