Implementing Socialized Healthcare Comparison between the Socialized and Privatized Health Care System: There are a number of arguments that exist inorder to resolve the issue between which health care system is better, either it’s the privatized healthcare or the socialized health system. In the private health care system, it consists of privatized insurance companies in which several diverse types of billing system exist. United states of America is the only country in the world nowadays that has implemented this type of system in the economy. However, all other countries round the globe prefer the socialized health care system in the country (Johnson & Stoskopf, 2010). Hence this suggests that the comparison is not just between these two health care systems that are privatized and universal but the contrast lies between the United States of America and all other countries of the globe. Before moving on to the actual topic discussing the divergence and variation between the two types of health care system that are socialized and privatized, it is essential to know what they actually are. The socialized health care system is also known as the universal health care system. In this type of well being care there exist a specialized dealing out or processing body whose major task include the transfer of all medicare payments directly from the insurance company to the service providers (Shi & Singh, 2010). On the other hand in the privatized healthcare system, the insurance companies deal with all the payment issues themselves without the involvement of any third party or even the service provider. For instance, if we begin to list down few prominent countries who prefer implementing each of t either system then Canada can be the one preferring the universal health care system whereas the United States of America uses the privatized system. In addition, keeping the contrasting factor really simple between the two classifications we can quote the fact that in a private medicare system an individual himself is liable to buy the insurance and will only receive the services when needed and those citizens who cannot afford to buy the insurance packages will have to pay all their medical expenses from their pockets. Whereas on the contrary, in a universal or socialized health care system it is strongly believed that the medical care is one of the basic human rights. It is obligatory for the healthcare functions provide the timely services to the person rather than suggesting them about the available insurance packages. Implementation of the Socialized Health Care System In recent times, countries round the globe have started implementing the socialized health care systems in their economy except the United States of America. This is for the reason that medical needs are the fundamental requirement what an individual seeks for. But hospitals and other medical institutions have started considering it as their core business or a pathway to earn money. Therefore it is obligatory for the economies to provide subsidies or assistance to their citizens so that they have an easy access to all their basic requirements and needs of the life. Hence economies all over the world have started considering this fact and implemented this socialized health care system in their country. This has given great help to the citizen and developed a strong faith upon their government. Evolution of Medicare or Medicaid Medicare is basically a federal or state owned insurance program that is commonly known as the CMS- Centres for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This program was formerly named as the Health Care Financing Administration or the HCFA (Slee et al, 2007). These insurance programs have been designed in order to provide the complete medical treatment and assistance to the special group of people that fall under the cluster of the American population. The selection criteria of this slab include people of nearly sixty five years of age or above. They can either be disabled workers or those who are currently suffering from the End- Stage Renal Disease that is ESRD. In addition, this special service is further classified into three major classes. These parts include Part A, Part B and Part C . Part A is purely based on the hospital insurance. It is implemented automatically or becomes mandatory when a person or his souse reaches the age of sixty five. No extra payment or premium is required to receive this coverage but the person must be capable enough to pay the annual charges that are about seven hundred and ninety two dollars. On the other hand Part B does not add the hospital insurance but it also comprises of all those essential health care needs that part A neglects to include. Similarly, part B is not financed through a trust fund and it rather gets the money through beneficiary premiums and the federal or state governed revenues. The ratio is twenty five seventy five for the both entities respectively. Effect of Medicare or Medicaid on the Society Recently, the growth and development of the insurance policies regarding the health care along with the slow and steady expansion of civic programs have been escorted with the increase in doctors and services of the medical institutions. This sudden rise has been noticed more in the poor sector rather than the rich segment. The consequence of Medicare and Medicaid is not just a matter of a few months or years (Gualco, 2012). This process has been an overall progression of a number or strategies, plans and a lot more. This is the reason that it has failed to cater the needs of each and every person all around the world. Along with this major advantage, it has also given rise to some disadvantages too. These cons include the experience to vulnerability and danger of superfluous and out of place concern. This hazard is more for the reason of recipients of Medicare than for the broad and common people. It is more for the reason that most of the doctors and medical practitioners along with few medical institutions that have a firm objective to dole out the deprived and underprivileged. Therefore as a result the neediest people are even more easily persecuted. Nonetheless, considering all the facts and figures, the overall effect of Medicare and Medicaid has been really effective and valuable. Socialized healthcare in Canada and England Canada and England both countries have been following the socialized health care system since the era of sixties and seventies (Shi & Singh, 2012). However, Canada introduced this socialized system of health care earlier than the United Kingdom (Cockerham, 2007). Comparing the statistics and the development of the two countries by and large in regard to the total health expenditure per capita then Canada is far more better than the UK. Both the countries have shown almost a similar progress regarding their health expenditure from nineteen fifties to the new century and yet till date.
