Secondly based on the above requirement the project would tend to select and work in terms of a specific model of delegation. Thirdly to understand the efficacy of the delegation model it would focus on a nursing problem and fourthly the project would thereby focus on solving the problem based on the model chosen. Fifthly it would focus on such stakeholders and aiders in the nursing process that would be impacted by changes in decision making. Sixthly out of the different stakeholders the project would focus on identifying the Right Stakeholder for Conducting and implementing the decision taken. Seventhly it would focus on choosing the right mode of communication to communicate the plan to the staff and stakeholders for solving the problem. Eighthly strategies are also needed to design the process of countering potential conflicts. Ninthly a model of gaining proper feedback from the participants needs to be formulated that in the tenth case would help in making effective evaluation of the problem-solving delegation model and also place needed recommendations where essential. Slide 3 The Delegation Model The Delegation Model chosen for nursing is based essentially on Five Rights. The Factors of Righteousness concerning Delegation can be conceptually underlined as follows. Firstly, it must be noted that that the tasks assigned fall in the category of being rightly delegated to others and should not fall in the ambit of nursing practice. Secondly, in the process of delegation it is required to be understood that the person chosen to be delegated is competent and right enough to satisfy the requirements of the task chosen. Thirdly, evaluation must be conducted as to whether the decision taken pertaining to the assignment of the task enhances the right of nursing care rendered to patients and thereby involves the accomplishment of different steps to achieve a favorable outcome. In the process of delegation it is required to rightly communicate the process or steps involved in the plan to the different stakeholder groups elucidating and emphasizing the process of conducts and expectations thereof. Finally the fifth step focuses on gaining effective feedback from the participants or stakeholder groups in the task delegation process that in turn would help in enhancing the amount of benefits rendered to the patients. This step also includes rightly evaluating the model in helping in achieving the objectives for which it had been incorporated and thereby providing useful recommendations (Clark, 2008, p.186). Slide 4 The Healthcare Problem Quality of services rendered through healthcare is countering problems owing to the shift from standards or best practices involved pertaining to pathological timings. It is observed that in many cases the morning pathological functions concerning collection of blood, urine and stool samples and subjecting them to tests get disrupted owing to the loss of focus and unavailability of required staff. Owing to the above case the formulation of pathological reports counters a major problem thereby rendering threat to the process of medication and treatment involved pertaining to the patients (Harris, 2005, p.395-396). Slide 5 Stakeholders to the Delegation Process The stakeholders to the delegation of tasks pertaining to the effective operation of the morning laboratories would consist of the following parties: Doctors, Laboratory Staff, Nursing Aids, Patients Involved and Nursing Staff. These people are identified as stakeholders to the delegation process in healthcare for they have significant interests and also would be potentially affected pertaining to the level of outcomes resulting thereof. These groups of stakeholders consist of both external and internal members whereas from the above list patients only constitute the external groups (Richards, 2004, p.79). Slide 6 Choosing the Right Stakeholder for Conducting the Action Here, the night changing nurse lead should be identified who would help in the due accomplishment of laboratory functions in due time before leaving the hospital premises. However, the parameters concerning the age of the nursing aid, the level of competency and accountability involved and willingness to serve should be properly evaluated. The nursing aid while being delegated the responsibility for the task underlined should be clearly, concisely, correctly and comprehensively made to stood the requirements expected out of the delegation conducted. They should understand the need of the morning laboratory functions and thereby help in the effective collection of pathological samples for testing purposes within the right time (Hansten and Jackson, 2009, p.287). Slide 7 Plan of Action The right stakeholder being identified for implementing the problem-solving decision and method, the following plan of action is required to be listed. Firstly it requires to identify the patients from whom morning samples would be collected and informing their diet routines thereof. Secondly it would work on informing and monitoring the laboratory staff in collection and testing functions. Thirdly the process would also tend to involve the doctors to demand a primary laboratory report of the tests from the laboratory staff conducting the tests which in turn would enhance the accountability for the same. Slide 8 Plan of Communication The Plan of Communication would focus on making the stakeholders understand the best-practices and standards involved in laboratory testing. Further it would involve setting a two-way communication system to encourage feedback from the parties involved. Finally the process would focus on making the parties involved understand their key roles and responsibilities pertaining to the delegation function. Slide 9 Addressing the Conflict The process of resolving the conflicts in healthcare generally involves five steps wherein firstly it would focus on encouraging joint collaboration of the parties involved in problem-solving to gain mutual benefits. Secondly it may also focus on gaining a compromise between the parties reflecting on mutual gains and losses. Thirdly conflict may also be resolved through the process of giving-in of one party to the other’s demands and needs. Fourthly however the process of conflict resolution demands force through the use of power tactics by the dominating party. Finally conflict may also be resolved through the process of avoidance or negligence of the issue (Rigolosi, 2005). Slide 10 Process of Generating Feedback Firstly feedback would be generated pertaining to the immediacy of the situation. Secondly feedback involves setting the right direction pertaining to preventing parties to gain mutual consent. Thirdly feedback should focus on criticizing the performance rated and not the person involved. Fourthly positive feedback should be rendered in public to enhance confidence and negative feedback in closed quarters to help avoid embarrassment. Slide 11 Understanding of the Problem being solved To understand whether the problem has been solved it is needed firstly to understand the attainability and measurability of the outcomes gained. Secondly it is needed to evaluate the negative and positive impacts of the problem-solving consequences. Thirdly evaluation is required of the outcomes in relation to whether they satisfy the objectives underlined. Fourthly assessment of the performance of the team members is required to understand a non-conflict based work situation. Slide 12 Recommendations for Future Firstly it is required to divide and delegate the tasks involved among different internal stakeholders for effective accomplishment of planned objectives. Secondly communication between the parties is required to be enhanced to resolve mental conflicts and barriers.
