"Active Ingredients of Neosporin" is a remarkable example of a paper on drug therapy.
Active ingredients of the drug are bacitracin, neomycin, and polymyxin. The dosing of the drug is usually twice a day and the drug is available in the form of 500mg tablets, needs to be taken orally. The drug has no significant drug/drug interactions but being a potent antibiotic, the adverse effects of this drug are very important. These include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity, and some others are important adverse reactions. It is contraindicated in pregnancy as it is fetotoxic.  It is indicated in infections and burns.

Neosporin + pain relief:

            This is the same but contains another side ingredient ‘pramoxine’ which is mainly used for the relief of pain. The adverse effects, indications, and contraindications are mainly the same. The only difference is that this drug is more potent than the former one.

Cortisone-10 maximum Strength:

            This is basically Hydrocortisone, a potent corticosteroid. This drug is available in many dosage forms but, mainly it is available in the form of injections and inhalers. It mainly affects kidney and liver function and should be avoided while administering other drugs with the same effects. The adverse of this drug is very wide including main cataracts (with prolonged use), impotency, hirsutism, and hepatic/nephrotoxicity. This drug is indicated for the patients of asthma, itches, and others. It is also contraindicated in pregnancy and kidney or liver failure.

Benadryl:

            An anti-allergic containing diphenhydramine and zinc for rashes and allergy is a very potent drug and relieves the disease immediately. This drug also has very few drug/drug interactions. The adverse effects mainly include dizziness and sleepiness. It is available in both syrup and ointment forms. It is indicated both for children and adults.

Benadryl extra strength:

            This drug just contains an extra quantity of HCL (2% instead of 1% in simple Benadryl). It is more potent and acts as an analgesic too to relieve pain. The side effects are usually the same. It is indicated mainly for adults.

Bengay Gel:

            Contains menthol. It is indicated both for children and adults. Has minimum side effects and no drug/drug interactions

Bengay Cream:

            This drug contains additional methyl salicylate for additional analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Used both in kids and adults and with the same side effects profile.

Bengay Cream Ultra Strength.

            This one contains 4% camphor in contrast to methyl salicylate of bengay cream. It is more potent for itching, rashes, and pain. The other factors are usually the same as that of bengay cream and gel.
