"Influence of Social Trends on Healthcare" is an outstanding example of a paper on drug therapy.
Social trends are responsible for alternating many industries. Among them, the healthcare industry is affected the most, as the healthcare industry is directly related to human health. It could be said that social trends have no direct impact on the health of a human-like divorce are unable to produce an illness; however, the trauma and depression attained through and the social trend may make a person ill. Thus, social trends do not influence a person’s health directly but indirectly.  In this paper, I will discuss two social trends and consequences on the heath of the person and the healthcare industry. Alcohol abuse and the relation between depression and exercise can be social trends that have a major impact on the healthcare industry.

A contemporary lifestyle is considered incomplete with drinking alcohol. However, drinking alcohol in a sensible limit and its abuse are two different matters. During 1994- 1995, the calculations showed that about 27.7% of men and 13.2% of women were in the list of alcohol abusers. The amount increased in the progressive years. It is known fact the drinking alcohol is dangerous for health and its abuse is far more dangerous. Results show that an estimated amount of about £1,059 million was lost by the industry due to alcohol-related illnesses (sick leaves, etc) in 1992).  On the other hand, the alcohol industry in the UK made advertisements of about £114.8 million regarding alcoholic beverages in 1994. Thus, this social trend not only impacted the industry but also the health industry.

An estimated amount shows that about 554 people having ages more than 16 share a public house in England and Wales and the number of persons, under the age of 16 that consume alcohol in a week in England and Wales, is 130,000. A report made by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that alcohol and social harm are much related to each other. The report says that “Adverse consequences in areas of life such as friendship, health, happiness, home life, and employment opportunities all increased monotonically with increasing consumption”.

It has been assumed that good exercise makes a person healthy and helps him lead a good life. However, modern Social trends, like the utilization of cars, limit physical activity. Now, everyone has a vehicle, and thus the rates of physical activity reduced. However, modern research shows that inactive people have a risk of colon cancer about 1.2 and 3.6 times more than an active person. Another study shows that the person involved in some kind of physical activity has a lower rate of depressions. Thus the practice can be useful in treating a depression patient. Regularity in physical exercise may prevent anxiety.

Modern lifestyle is considered incomplete without the social trends that are contradictory to the human’s health behaviors. On the other hand, education gives knowledge to the person about the health, usage of alcohol, and the importance of physical activity. The health benefits that the body and mind attain from physical activity are incomparable to any medicine. However, the wealth is considered as the biggest threat to the health, as more budgets will allow a person to have more alcohol, to smoke more and eat more without burning a calorie from the body.
