The Role of Nutrition in Pressure Ulcers Developments The Role of Nutrition in Pressure Ulcers Developments Abstract The prevalence of pressure ulcers has remained stable despite the knowledge people have on how to prevent it and the perfections in treatment. The state has increased financial difficulty and labor challenges in healthcare service provision among the population. Even though there has never beenan  explicit connection between nutrients and pressure ulcers, factors such as under nutrition is crucial for analysis. Consequentially, nutrition therapy has been identified to hold a crucial function in pressure ulcers treatment. Factors such as intake absorption and excretion are basic in evaluation of pressure ulcers. Demerits in research have led to lack of information supported by evidence to ascertain the specific nutrients connection with the condition. Medical practitioners should conduct broad research on comorbidities, weight, biochemical information and intake history to provide to provide proper nutritional guidelines. This information and the symptoms influencing gastric motility can be utilized to provide protein requirements and energy to address pressure ulcers. The replacement of micronutrients is should occur in case of depletion, but there is no assurance of complementation of minerals to individuals experiencing pressure ulcers. Introduction Pressure ulcer is a condition in the body that has the closest relationships with nutrition. Nutrition is critical for consideration in health because it directly influences the occurrence of pressure ulcers in persons. Nutrition can regulate the pressure ulcers rate since it determines the entry of nutrient elements within the body systems. There is a conventional belief that every nutrient ingested effects the occurrence of pressure ulcers, yet it has not been proved. The objective of this exercise is to determine the role of nutrition in pressure ulcers developments. The evaluation of the purpose of nutrition on the advancements of pressure ulcers would involve sections to foster critical understanding throughout the research. The research would evaluate the pervasiveness, frequency, value and nutrition. The research will address the relationship between nutrition and pressure ulcers through screening and assessment. The findings on the causes of the condition will then be analyzed through a comprehensive procedure. Finally, suggestions will be made concerning the findings on the best means of treating and controlling the condition. Annotated Bibliography Ferguson, M., Cook, A., Rimmasch, H., Bender, S., & Voss, A. (2000). Pressure Ulcer Management: The Importance of Nutrition. MEDSURG Nursing, 9(4), 163. In this article, Ferguson et al review the significance of nutrition in aversion and treatment of pressure ulcers. The authors utilize information obtained from organizational surveys from Cambridge companies to identify the essence of nutrition in pressure ulcers. Their research aims at the evaluation of nutritional trends and pressure ulcers prevalence amongst the individuals. The article is essential to my research since it evaluates the nutritional conditions of vulnerable patients to contracting pressure ulcers and the vital nutrients in addressing the condition. The limitation of the article is that the survey only focused on the general role of nutrition thus; the authors have recommended a review of additional sources. This article will incorporate the basis of in my research. Lardenoye, J. P., Thiéfaine, J. G., & Breslau, P. J. (2009). Assessment of Incidence, Cause, and Consequences of Pressure Ulcers to Evaluate Quality of Provided Care. Dermatologic Surgery, 35(11), 1797-1803. doi:10.1111/j.1524-4725.2009.01293.x Lardenoye, Thiéfaine, and Breslau assess the prevalence, cause and effects of pressure ulcers to determine the value of care among different individuals. The authors used data from the organization researches on pressure ulcers in leading hospitals in New York. This research attempts to identify the effect of sex and age on value of pressure ulcers. This article is crucial to my research topic since it will extend the scope of my research on the function of nutrition in pressure ulcers development by including value, sex and age. The limitation of this piece is that it only focuses on age and sex therefore, focusing on other sources is necessary. The article will only supplement the information in my research. Morgan, J. (2011). The Role of Nutrition in Pressure Ulcers Developments: HM Composite Inc., 2 (9) 202 The author outlines the risk factors, such as weight loss, poor ingestion, dehydration and weight loss that connect nutrition to pressure ulcers. The information used in this article originated from the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, to identify the nutritional relationships with the condition. The research evaluates the nutritional influence of nutrients on pressure ulcers. This article is pertinent to my research topic since it addresses a section of my research basing on the inquiry of specific nutrients on pressure ulcers. The major constraint of this journal is that it briefly describes the elements and their suspected effects on the condition without evidential proof, but suggests further research. This journal will be a complimentary source of information to my research. Johnson, E., (2007). Optimizing Nutrition to Prevent Pressure Ulcer Development. Vol 3. No. 1. London: Wounds. (53 -59) According to Emma, some aspects of nutrition depict predisposition of an individual to pressure ulcers despite the vagueness in relationships between nutrition and the condition. The author obtained the information corporate research surveys and other scholars such as Thompson and Fuhrman - medical experts. The piece focuses on addressing the confusion arising from the use of some nutrients as predictors of pressure ulcers. This piece is vital to my research topic since the author offers clarifications on the specific precursors of pressure ulcers emanating from nutrition. The main restrain in this work is that the author only reason from other works, which had limitations and does not depict practicality. This piece will compliment ideas in my research. Conclusion Nutrition factors are the main cause of pressure ulcers. Nonetheless, there is no explicit account to the claim. This work has addressed sensitive areas of nutrition and pressure ulcers that if utilized properly would attribute to new discoveries that can be used to provide clear data on the link between nutrition and the condition. The exercise also realized that there is a solution to the problem of associating nutrition to pressure ulcers. Nonetheless, both researchers and scholars have been consuming the knowledge utilized by the previous people hence, leading their researches to stop without proceeding to the following level. Therefore, the exercise recommended that intensive research to be performed without predetermined opinions, and actual documentation of the relationships will be revealed. This would lead to the determination of the actual purpose of nutrition in the development of pressure ulcers. Read More
