"Management Action Plan for Electronic Medical Records" is a wonderful example of a paper on the health system. Treating the highly increasing number of patients with care is the requirement of hospitals. Nurses are involved mostly in taking care of patients but sometimes are slowed down with time due to the system in use; traditional paper system. Many hospitals have changed their systems with the changes in technology, the creation of computerized charting. Computerized charting is the requirement for the hospital to improve largely (Mahmood, 2002).

By implementing the computerized charting system, the organization would have to spend less time on documentation. This is because the system would do most of the work. Consequently, computerized charting has a trend in many hospitals, as the services being offered by the hospital has increased (Mahmood, 2002).

            With the system, there would be less paperwork involvement. This would mean that the time spent in writing or creating templates for entry of records would reduce since the electronic storage has its own already established template. The computerized system such as the installation of bedside terminals whose main functioning would be to automatically note down from the cardiac monitors, laboratory information systems, and urine collectors would facilitate the management of cardiac conditions among patients. The system would also enable nurses to validate the data collected and add explanations as they proceed to other patients. This would improve the patient's speed of information or record update, hence this would quicken the analysis period on a patient. Hence, patient care would be much highly improved.

            It is true that the traditional way of keeping records is associated with a number of shortcomings. Frequently, the search for patient’s records would take a whole lot more time that could be used in other activities and to offer hospital services to other patients. Because of this, the general performance of the clinic would be low since some nurses would refuse to work at the clinic and patients may complain of poor and inefficient time in taking care of them. This is one of the ways through which hospitals obtain a wrong image of poor governance. The number of patients which determines the income of the hospital, once reduced, this would mean that the financial management would be jeopardized by low income. It may lead also to a reduction of the workers which would, in turn, reduce clinical support services (Mahmood, 2002).

            From the foregoing discussion, it is clear that the size, capacity, and nature of technology in any health setting are important aspects that should be put into consideration. It is also apparent that the incorporation of the computerized system would facilitate the efficiency of service administration. It is, therefore, recommendable that every health facility makes an effort of incorporating the computerized system into its facilities. After determining the expected number of computers and electronics to be installed, the management can purchase the electronics and then offer basic training to the nurses.

            In order to determine the success of the management action plan, research on the attitude of the nurses towards the system should be taken. This can be conducted through a questionnaire. It may also be known as a success from the improvement in management’s relation with workers and through responses from outgoing patients
