We often assume that persons ailing from obesity are lazy and may not participate in normal body functioning. There is a possibility that the condition they suffer is hereditary and means to counter the dreadful conditions provide futile. There are means to check on the overall health to prepare for the worst health diagnosis of visiting a physician. These factors may be involved in daily activities or result from an individual’s attempt to maintain constantly a healthy physical stature. Overweight is a condition that results from poor eating habits and a lack of proper physical fitness. Individuals are often advised to practice healthy forms of eating to prevent cases of obesity and the risks it promises. To identify the occurrence of unhealthy health problems, the weight is regularly checked on every visit to the physician to identify the overall physical condition of the patient and advice issued according to the diagnosis. Most individuals diagnosed with overweight suffer from obesity and advice given to maintain regular body exercise and a healthy diet system. Obesity is a general body condition that may involve great health risks especially causing lung diseases and heart problems. These individuals find difficulty in performing normal physical engagements because their mobility is impaired. Body Mass Index, BMI is a means used to determine the overall body physique and may be applied to solve problems involving overweight and obesity.

BMI and effects on Overweight and Obesity

BMI is a means applied to determine the overall body weight and mass content via overall weight against the individual’s height. It mainly entails the amount of fat within an individual and considers the constituents in the density of the measured body. Mathematically, it entails squaring the overall height getting the result and dividing it with the individual’s weight. Most adults having a BMI of around 28 are overweight and a further increase in this figure results in a determination of obesity. The challenging result that BMI entails reveals that it limits the measurement of overall body fat and does not necessarily imply an individual is a fat. The physique may present as a healthy individual but n using BMI, the individual may have a case of overweight (Zheng et al.). The figure, in turn, varies in children and mostly in boys and girls. The overall BMI figure may vary across individuals mainly influenced by the difference in weight those citizens posses. An athlete may get a high BMI rating yet a healthy physical stature depicted and may qualify them to participate further in the sport. BMI helps determine the internal body conditions that may be hidden from the normal view (CDC). It is obviously easy to conclude that an individual with high body fat unhealthy, and determines overweight from this view. In individuals with less body fat, there exists a reluctance to deduce overweight because most people term them healthy and without any overweight constraints.

BMI is used to measure overall mass, and from this figure, the density entailed in a body read accurately. It is used to determine overweight and people with a higher reading linked to obesity. BMI is an accurate determination of overweight though obvious deductions may be made in considering obesity. Most physicians when advising on proper feeding habits, therefore, apply their use.

Conclusion

BMI uses means to determine overweight and obesity. These physical conditions may damage an individual’s overall mobility and functioning of major body organs. The use of BMI is intensely applied to counter the development of general obesity condition.
