"Change Management Within the Organization" is a worthy example of a paper on the health system.
Change management is one of the most crucial aspects of nursing leader initiatives that can significantly influence patient care. Nursing professional is an intrinsic part of healthcare and leadership initiatives in this area become critical to the wider welfare of patients, carer and medical fraternity as a whole. In the era of rapid globalization and technology, empowered decisions based on informed choices become the major element to meet the challenges of time. The use of changing technology not only facilitates improved performance but also helps to generate awareness amongst various stakeholders about the issues that are inherently linked to the recovery of patients. It instills self-confidence in their ability to make independent decisions about themselves, which is especially true for nurse leaders, patients, and carers.

Hence, using technology to empower people has today become a very important aspect of the nursing profession. Interestingly, introducing change vis-à-vis technology is often met by huge resistance. The main reasons for resistance are due to lack of awareness about new technology and its use, irrational fear in their ability to adapt to technology, and insecurity about their job. All these factors are highly pertinent issues that need to be addressed before implementing change within an organization. Thus nursing leadership greatly facilitates proactive participation in change management within the organization.

Dissemination of information about change and change management measures are vital tools that promote understanding about the changes. When people are able to understand change and the role of technology in improving performance, both on an individual and organizational level, they are better equipped to become proactive participants. Through effective communication, leadership initiates consensus and acceptability to change and redefines shared goals through collective decision making. This is an essential aspect of leadership initiative that inculcates a participatory approach to overcome resistance and other barriers to implement change with renewed interest. Information empowers people so that they are able to make effective decisions based on informed choices.

Thus, change management needs to be addressed with an innovative approach so that people are not only able to embrace change with knowledge but also become part of the decision-making process. Technology has increasingly become a key factor to improve performance and also to disseminate information about issues that could hinder progress in implementing essential modules of change. In the area of the nursing paradigm, it considerably impacts the nurse-patient relationship. Ryles (1999) asserts that if the nursing professionals want to empower their clients, they should first become empowered. Nurse leaders can effectively create awareness regarding various issues through available technologies like computers and the internet to empower the common man so that they can understand how technology can improve and improvise the efficacy of treatment.

One can, therefore, conclude that effective leadership demands empowerment of the workforce so that they can employ informed choices to make effective decisions about their patients. Planned change is an important issue in the contemporary healthcare system. Hence, technology must be integrated within the nursing paradigm to make it more effective. Indeed, it has become a strong enabling tool to empower people that can significantly improve patient care.
