Extract of sample "Genetic Engineering"

1 First sentence Expansive and continued research and experimentation in the field of genetic engineering and the cloning of organisms will produce major breakthroughs in the science and engineering field about the knowledge of organism and especially human anatomy in the genetics topic, However, the advances pose serious challenges to ethical standards accepted widely in the world as more scientists involved in the experiments and expressing their great desires to clone and experiment on human clones in the programs get opposition from the society. 1.2 Argument Reconstruction The argument reconstruction is aimed at the question that is raised in the first section above.

The target is the brief history of the genetic engineering process and the issues regarding the society that affect the ethics standards. Procedures principles and the process often genetic engineering and cloning affecting ethics are examined. 1. P 1 – Strands of Deoxyribonucleic Acid(DNA) can be cut using special enzymes 2. P 2 – The strands can be cut and, therefore, remove some genetic combinations 3. P 3 – DNA contains information about genes of the given organisms 4. ACTION 1 (P1 P2 P3) – Since strands of DNA can be cut it is possible to duplicate genes, and this contributes much to the genetic engineering process useful for medical reasons.

It has caused much arguments and debate since there is the development of the human and animal cloning practices. 5. P 4 – There are drugs and medicines in the world that contain similar elements that may be found in cow’s milk or goats’ milk when cloning is used. 6. P 5 – Current processes revolve around the production of vaccines against some of the worst diseases like Malaria, antibodies of HIV and proteins to treat hemophilia among others by use of cloning processes. 7. P 6 – Current research is also targeting the development of proteins ha will help digestion of fats and proteins for infants by use of cloning tests. 8. ACTION 2 (P4 P5 P6) – Cloning can be used for beneficial purposes and tests, stopping the cloning process will hinder the tests. 9. P 7 – safety of genetic engineering processes have been questioned, and even legislation has been set up. 10. P 8 – Governments have illegalized human cloning and other experiments around genetic engineering are also heavily scrutinized. 11. ACTION 3 (P7, P8) – The only legal forms that have resulted from the governments’ intervention into cloning are the use of Vitro fertilization, artificial insemination, and sperm banks. 12. P 9 – Genetic engineering has evolved so much and continued to evolve quite hastily. 13. P 10 – Genetic engineering proponents have supported the genetics development arguing that it is an advance in the medical field. 14. P 11 – Gene manipulation is best used for the treatment and elimination of disease and the big potential in the field. 15. ACTION 4 (P10, P11) – Use of the genetic engineering advances and knowledge will be of much benefit to the people who have genetic diseases in their families and if used this way genetic engineering will be morally right saving people’s lives. 16. P 12 – Plants are being genetically modified with no any opposition or very muted opposition 17.

P 13 – It is a contradiction to support morally plant genetically engineered modification and oppose the human genetic engineered modifications to fight off diseases. 18. P 14 – The large part of society has formed an ignorant position on the application of genetics to human life saying scientists are playing God. 19. P 15 – Theres already documented advantages of what the scientists say is perfecting the flaws of creation not the taking of the full role of God such as the diabetics’ synthetics insulin. 20. ACTION 5 (P13, P14, P15) – The society needs to research and get enough knowledge on the genetic engineering advantages to humanity before forming an ignorant conclusion. 21. P 16 – There’s has been disasters regarding genetics experiments such as the Beltsville pigs and the Dolly sheep 277 trials. 22. P 17 – Many fast advances and past unthinkable genetics are happening now with for instance the choice of sex of an unborn child.

It is projected that babies will be designed in ‘20’ years. 23. P18 – The design of babies gives rise to the practice of gene therapy. That is choosing the characteristics of a baby before the development. The major target though is the safety precaution for now to prevent diseases such as Down syndrome. 24. P19 – Proponents view that with the perfection of gene therapy human beings will realize much benefits than they think of. 25. P20 – Human cloning is a major divisive topic in the medical field. 26. P21 – Genetics is just developing, and the development and perfection of the practice will be widely accepted just as the other frontiers of science were opposed but are now widely accepted. 27. ACTION 6 (P1, P2, P3, P4, P13, P15, P17) – Genetics which has been understood on the first stage is in the process of perfection and will eventually be accepted in the future as it has significant advantages for the human beings.

All people should examine and take stands that are well informed about the topic and avoid using ignorant conclusions by realizing the benefits of genetics to current and mostly to future generations. References "Genetic Engineering and Cloning." 123HelpMe.com. 03 Dec 2015      .
