This is as a result of the invention of social media which has enhanced people from all places in the world to interact with each other easily. Approximately, 80% of the American teens employ social media in their daily activities.
Topic definition: According to Brydolf (2007), “social media is the relationship that exists between networks of people.”

A. Social media can make a student to procrastinate.
B. Social media makes a student waste time.
C. Social media affects a student’s academic performance.
D. Social media can affect a student’s health.
Body:
A. Social media can make to a student to procrastinate.
i. Social media such as face-book has the potential to disrupt a student from reading or doing assignments.
ii. Extensive use of social media makes a student to lose interest on doing some essential activities.
iii. Social media has the potential to alter with the attention of a student when doing some crucial such as an assignment.
iv. The feedbacks gotten by social media may make a student forget what he or she was doing.
B. Social media makes a student waste time.
i. Most students love face-booking.
ii. Social media updates may make a student spend a lot of time reading them.
iii. Chats via social media make a student waste time.
iv. Students love checking social media sites.
C. Social media affects a student’s academic performance.
i. Social media makes a student to become good in multitasking; a student can read and text at the same time.
ii. Students spend much of time face-booking or chatting instead of studying.

Social media is a channel of communication that unites people from different places in the world. It has many negative effects on a student.

It is crucial for the use of social media to be banned so as to save the students from its negative impacts.
