The paper "Social Media Marketing Defined" is a great example of a capstone project on marketing. Web 2.0 involves a lot that just social media. It involves creativity, building communities with a unified goal, sharing of videos, pictures, notes, etc., increased participation of individuals, privacy, the Internet, blogs, interactivity, wikis, the World Wide Web (WWW), and much more. Some organizations view web 2.0 as more of a promise than reality and this has hindered them from forging their way towards its adoption.

They produce more hindering factors than enabling ones, and they end up not being allowed to create an entirely new experience for their clients, customers, partners, fans, etc. At the same time, there is a massive relocation of many companies to embracing Web 2.0. These companies, though some may not have grown to realize the full potential of Web 2.0, have grown to customize their own ways of measuring their success on the Web 2.0 front. Other organizations just look at the security requirements and safety issues that may arise and choose to run away from it.

There are many situations where a company would need to align themselves and adopt Web 2.0. One is customer service. For a company to provide information to customers, partners, and others, they can use web 2.0 features for ease of communication. This can involve using social media, email, blogs, forums, etc. to respond to customer complaints, questions, etc. Another use of Web 2.0 is for public relations. An organization can use Web 2.0 to increase their score in the public. Web 2.0 helps organizations to create a behind the scenes look at the company which may increase their collective opinion. Web 2.0 can also be used to run promotions and marketing campaigns.

Through the use of social media, blogs, email, online advertising, and forums, a company can run their marketing campaigns and marketing campaigns to target a wider international audience. The statistics on the use of social media around the world show that approximately 75% of the world’s population uses social networks often. In recent years, social media has surpassed email to be the most accomplished actors on the internet. Currently, 1 in every 6 people goes on the web to visit social media.

Currently, the number of blogs stands at over two hundred million, and there are close to 1 million blog posts written every single day.
