The discussion covered inbound corporate structures owned by United States investors that dominate Latin American jurisdictions (Hearst, p. 17).

  2. General absence in Latin America jurisdictions of domestic withholding tax on dividend distributions from the formerly taxed profits with one exception, that is, imposed only by Peru at $12 million. But notably high withholding tax rate barriers imposed on distributions in excess of previously tax profit, that is $28 million in Uruguay (Gilson, p. 66-72).
