1. Consumption holds an importance in my life as it is a basis for sustenance. Every individual like I look for changes in the consumption pattern. The society with their unlimited wants and desires have made natural resources scarce. The rapid growth in population, changes in the technology, increased investments in human societies all have created a concept of scarcity. This has been aided further by the desire to grow quickly. This has made many important resources to dry up and countries are looking towards other to fulfil those desires. The shift in the consumption pattern has also affected the change in resources. Consumption holds importance for me but the depleting resources is a concern. The other factor which is affecting my consumption pattern is the manner the natural resources and labour has been exploited to produce goods. This has brought about many changes in mankind which has altered their pattern of living. Deforestation has brought about changes in climatic conditions which has altered the characteristics of soil and climate. This has changed the soil fertility as soil erosion due to cutting of trees has reduced the fertility thereby effecting the production of grains. This has brought about a change i my consumption pattern. Also the use of child labour and exploitation of labours by certain economies is forcing to look at a change in consumption. Consumption holds an important place but urbanisation and development of new dwelling has caused rapid rise in global warming, rising sea level, the amount of consumable water depleting is a concern for all economy. This is having an effect on my consumption pattern and is making me think the goods which need to be consumed and which shouldn’t be consumed. The other factors which is making me look into the importance of consumption and see that the manner in which the resources are depleting which has caused river banks to flow over the limit causing many species of animal to die and also affected the quality of water in sea. This has made human life to be altered and is causing rapid rise in temperatures as more carbon dioxide is being released and reduction in plants is causing increase in temperature and increase in harmful gases in the environment. Deforestation has thus forced human to look towards genetically modified food as the fertility of soil has been affected which has resulted in producing crops which are more notorious but are modified by using different genes. Thus consumption holds importance in my life but the recent changes and the importance of being ethical has altered the manner consumption was seen before. 2. The learning from this careers workbook activity has been phenomenon as it reflects on different areas which will help to ensure better performance. The career workbook activity teaches me to be innovative at the same time be able to change. The activity has taught me to come up with creative ideas and ensure that that creativity is transformed into innovation by making the necessary changes. The learning from this activity has been to lay stress on ethics and ensure that all steps are taken which looks from the perspective of the stakeholders. The activity also taught me to see that a win-win situation is created by setting goals and ways for each employees to achieve those so that the performance when evaluated motivates him and brings the best out of him. The learning from these workbook activities is to see that steps are taken to ensure that the person tries to improve the condition of human beings and help people to fight problems that arise and tries to solve those problems. The learning from this has been to provide social service and it is important that people and children are not looked down. They should be treated with respect. It should not be such that the morale of the people is harmed which hampers the growth and affects productivity. The overall learning has developed me to look into environment sustainability by ensuring that all measures are taken to improve the environment. It has taught me to look into factors which will help to prevent the environment and ensure that measures are taken to develop mankind. Thus, the learning has been phenomenon and has brought about a change in outlook. 3. The overall learning from this course has been to look into various factors which will help me to bring the necessary changes in my outlook which will help me to ensure that I am able to deliver better performance. One learning for me has been on the ethical front. It taught me that I need to look at things in a positive light and look towards the stakeholders’ perspective to ensure that I am able to deliver better performance. The learning for me from this was that I need to look at things whether it was correct and the best way to do a particular thing so that the society on a whole is considered. Another important learning is to ensure that environment is looked after. The growth of technology and mankind has made human use the resources in such a manner that environmental degradation is very high. It taught me that measures should be taken to sustain the environment and ensure that a proper balance is ensured between growth and environment. Another important learning is to ensure a proper work life balance is ensured where all the factors are considered and measures are taken to improve the condition. It taught me that a proper balance needs to be found out which will help me to ensure that I am able to use all the factors to bring a proper balance between all.
