In incorporating this approach, Bay City Town Council project is assessed using the process, product, profit, planet ad people criteria. 3.0 Executive Summary Bay City Town Council is a progressive council that aims to address the emerging local community requirements. The highlighted problem is the supply of water because of the increase in population through the installation of a new trunk main covering 10km, which would affect the aspects of the city. To ensure the achievement of the expectations of the project, the implementation of the project has to integrate different variables in ensuring the sustainability objectives are achieved. It includes focusing on people, planet, and profit. 4.0 Project Sustainability Objectives The following are some of the sustainability objectives that affects the delivery of Bay City Town Council Project: i. People – some of the negative impacts of the project include contravention of human rights in facets of managing traffic and pedestrians, waste removal and management, pollution related issues, planning, and policy development Planet – the planet is vulnerable to most of the processes including materials and procurement, energy utilization, water, transport, and waste. These negatives are associated with transportation and utilization of the materials and resources in completing the project. Profit – the sensitivity of the project and capital intensity means that any shortcoming affects the integrity and expectations of the project. For example, the planning may have forecasted data on return on investments, but the financial obligations may not reflect the investment costs e.g. the cost may be higher compared with the overall benefits of the project. The following are some of the sustainable strategies, which may be implemented in ensuring the project objectives and sustainability measures are achieved: Qualified and experienced personnel – these individuals will have the capacity to implement the project. The success of any project lies in formulation and implementation of the project. Thus, having qualified individuals improves the project formulation and implementation. Adhering and upholding legislations and standards in place – following the policies and standards within the construction and engineering sector are important. For example, upholding health and safety requirements means that chances of injuries are minimalized. Transferring the responsibility to third parties e.g. insurance – taking insurances for health and contracts are strategies to mitigate problems associated with litigations.
