Even when provided with similar conditions, some companies have performed exceedingly well while their rivals are scrambling to cope with the market requirements. A figure of genes could be applied to excuse the difference in company operations, although it is thought that the key element is the character of leadership inside the system. The techniques employed by leaders play a significant role of enhancing the endurance and prosperity of societies. Nevertheless, progress in endeavouring to understand how strategic leadership in organization works has been restrained by a contracted concentration on describing how leaders promote individual followers to practice more than they thought or meant to act. Encouraging members of staff is an important aspect of leadership, but it is not enough to explain the financial operation of a corporation that has many leaders managing different departments. Another drawback of current prevalent theories is the hidden assumption that single case of leadership may be applicable to all systems. These notions fail to supply the guidance required by leaders when they are faced with novel challenges and varying market conditions. Research background Hospitality industry and especially the hotels has been growing in precedented rate in the United Arab Emirates. The increasing numbers of tourists travelling to the country has been increasing every year. As an outcome, the organizations within this industry have been forced to prepare the necessary strategies on how to exceed the customers demands and anticipations. It has been noted that internal capabilities promote competitive advantage and performance of an establishment. This inquiry proposes to await into the existing relationship between leadership styles and the organizational functioning in terms of innovation in the hotel sector in the United Arab Emirates. Literature Review The nature of leadership in many organizations has a direct impingement on the objectives of such companies, that is, profit maximization. Profit realization is the sole objectives of both private and public establishments. Yukl (2002) has observed that continued search for competitive advantage can be supposed to be the main characteristic of leaders. He has noted that competitive advantage can be obtained from the framework set by the society as the guiding principles in its operations. Companies are, therefore, forced to set mission and vision in order to realize their aims. Furthermore, the missions and visions cannot be attained if the company lacks a visionary leader who is able to transform it completely. When a leader is focused on the needs of the subjects, he or she is regarded as an accountable individual. Employees, on the other hand, are the lynchpin of any governing body. As a consequence, it is important to make sure the citizenry at the help of its leadership pay much care to the demands of the employees. It has been observed that people are forced back by moral prerequisite, which is the need to defend a campaign. Finkelstein (2003) argues that employees would like to have a touch sensation that the leadership of the troupe is taking charge of their needs. He has noticed that employees tend to be creative and innovative in their employment whenever they take what they are asking from the organization’s leaders. For example, if the employees are contented with their reward, they are likely to devote most of their energy towards accomplishing the targets of their employer. Nevertheless, if their grievances are always neglected, they are likely to undertake other initiatives to supplement their income, thereby affecting the operation of their troupe. Innovative and transformative leaders take into consideration the interests of their employees. In addition, they help workers make sense out of mutual exclusiveness. Yukl (2002) says that organizational performance can be seen in terms of its long term endurance and success. Some of these include its net profits, profit margin, and increase in profits earned at the close of every fiscal year. In order for a company to succeed, there are three distinct but interconnected determinants. They include human relations and resources, innovation and adaptation, and the efficiency and the dependability of the procedures used. It has been argued that leadership plays a significant part in affecting the arrangement as it try to define organizational structure, processes and a culture that encourages innovation. Moreover, the establishment has to mark up effective leaders that will speed the company’s founding. During its inception, the organization needs to have formulated policies that it will stick to as it attempts to compete effectively in today’s highly competitive business environment. Many are times that business enterprises have been formed, only to shut down a few years afterwards because they lacked visionary leadership that would have steered them out front. Methodology Data collection was executed through the use of questionnaires via purposive sampling method. United Arab Emirates has a booming hotel industry. Thus, the researcher contacted ten hotels to experience how they promote innovation in their systems through the leadership that they possess. The researcher contacted ten managers out of whom nine agreed to collaborate. As a result, questionnaires were sent to them where they gave their views on the set questions. The respondents had to be assured of the confidentiality of all the answers they offered. These questionnaires were personally given to six of the managers, while the other three were done via emails. However, out of the nine distributed questionnaires, one did not come back. Secondly, the researcher sought for an official appointment with the handlers to have a one on one consultation. Nevertheless, most of them turned the chance and only four gave a go ahead and agreed to be questioned. Other methods employed to gather information were through the available data from volumes and journals. The information proved important as it had been performed by other researchers carrying out a similar project. It is from the information gathered that the researcher was able to carry out data analysis by looking at the reactions given by different respondents. Although there were some fluctuations in the response given, they totally appeared to fit in that visionary leadership is ideal to steer organizations to greater heights of prosperity. In summation, they agreed that for an organization to go onwards, it ought to sustain the pastime of its employees at the centre. This is because; such employees play a significant part in the operations of the society. Result and Discussion From the data received, it has been noted that leadership plays a critical role in boosting innovation by its employees. It was evident during data analysis that organization that creates an enabling climate for its citizenry to go tends to be modern and able to contend effectively with other competitors. In summation, the respondents seemed to agree with the fact that without a clear vision, a company might lose its focus. Therefore, employees are required to infer what the company stands and aims to become. This allows them to deal with the challenges that may arrive along the way by following the set down procedures within the system. Motivation is another term that featured prominently in the inquiry. The respondents were of the belief that employees are supposed to be given incentives that will make them put more elbow grease in their oeuvre. In order to move and encourage motivation amongst their employees, some of the arrangements have set targets that employees are asked to accomplish. Achieving such target amount to more rewards being paid. Other hotels in the United Arab Emirates have come up with ‘employee of the month and the year’ rewards. The winners of these prestigious awards are those employees that put more efforts in their work than anyone else. In order to encourage them to carry on with the same spirit and motivate others to work hard, these rewards have been introduced. This means that employees’ performance is the primary factor considered when presenting these prizes. In order to achieve the objectives set by the company, the respondents agreed that employee training is critical. Most of the organizations hold refresher courses for their employee to ensure that they are at par with the market requirements. It is through the training that innovation amongst employees is encouraged. Through inquiry and development, most of these systems have managed to know what is desirable for their clients at different times. Employees have been permitted to continue their works in order to remain relevant to the ever-changing business environment. Some organizations have offered to sponsor their best employees to undertake various certification courses. In an effort to encourage innovativeness amongst employees, the governing bodies have allowed employees to resolve issues on the best ways they remember the company’s operations are not impressed. Secondly, employees have been given a leeway to come up with new ideas that they think can be of help to the company. This entails that; every employee can come up with an idea and then discuss it with the management for implementation. It was discovered that employees whose ideas were viable were rewarded financially. This was acted to encourage others to become think tanks of the fellowship, as well. Conclusion An able leadership in a company is very vital. The success and the failure of an arrangement depend on the management ability to further its development. The power to be innovative has played a crucial role in the survival of the modern day companies. As the world changes, the dynamics involved in working a business change. Employees play an important role of promoting the growth of the company. Thus, the leadership in the company ought to provide an enabling environment through which employees can perform their duties effectively and enthusiastically.
