Besides organization’s mission and goals, other factors such as reporting structure, leadership style, culture, geographic location, physical work environment, staffing practices, and graduate opportunities ought to align with personal and professional needs in order to lead to a desired career path. There are some inspirational leaders in the world that may inspire someone through their career journey. This paper presents the organization profile of DHL as well as leader profile with regards to Steve Jobs. Organization profile Not less than forty years back, DHL was instituted in San Francisco by three budding entrepreneurs- Larry Hillblom, Robert Lynn and Adrian Dalsey. DHL has progressively expanded as an exceptional rate (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Currently, it prides itself as the international market head of the global logistics and express industry. Dating in 1969, DHL began its initial small steps in future building by shipping papers through airplane between San Francisco and Honolulu (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Years later, DHL network expanded, steadily getting new customers within each region of the globe. Simultaneously, the marketplace grew and turned out to be more complex, therefore, DHL adjusted to fulfill the transforming needs of its clients, both at local and global level (Mangan, et al, 2008). Presently, DHL’s global network connects not less than 220 territories and countries worldwide (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Additionally, DHL provides supreme expertise in air, ocean and express freight, solutions in contract logistics, overland transport and worldwide mail services. From 1969 up to now, the approach as well as the dedication is still the same. The organization’s success has constantly been grounded around delivery of excellent service to customers (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Never contented, DHL has turned out to be a brand recognized for personal dedication, proactive solutions in addition to local potency. At the core of the company’s success are the employees who concentrate on the needs of customers and offer individually tailored solutions (Gattorna, 2009). All segments run under the management of their individual divisional headquarters. Management functions of the group are carried out through Corporate Center. The company has centralized internal services that support the whole Group, including IT, Procurement and Finance Operations (DHL International GmbH, 2013). This combination facilitates the company to enhance the business’s flexibility, improve quality of service and influence scale’s economies as well as cost benefits (DHL International GmbH, 2013). The division that I am interested in is supply chain division where I want to work as an assistant manager. The division designs and employs tailored supply chain as well as business information solutions for leaders in the market in not less than fifty countries. The associates bring international vision, disciplined process and market insights to solutions of supply chain for the globe’s leading companies (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Wide industry knowledge and contract logistics knowledge makes sure that the company’s solution plan, warehousing, transportation and fulfillment services allow companies to be very efficient, productive and competitive. Generally, the business needs of the customer are always the heart of what employees do (from initial analysis of the situation to the ongoing programs of improvement that facilitates better outcomes each day) (Circling The Supply Chain, 2013). DHL has nearly 275,000 workers internationally who provide customers excellent quality of service and local expertise to meet their requirements in supply chain (DHL International GmbH, 2013). DHL acknowledges its social responsibility through supporting protection of climate, disaster education and management. As the international’s leading expert in contract logistics, DHL Supply Chain is enthusiastic about: driving competitive advantage that is sustainable for its customers by delivering their commodities to market quickly and more professionally, regardless of their size, customers can depend on the company to exploit its local insight as well as international scale to provide value across each feature of supply chain; offering an assortment of solutions that are company-specific all over the chain of supply (DHL International GmbH, 2013). From designing, sourcing, storage, production, configuration, and distribution to after-sales, clients can depend on the company to provide dynamic solutions that fit for any industry, within any setting regardless of how demanding it might be. Using expertise of both supply chain and the industry to turn compound requirements of customers into solutions that are flexible which meet challenges of the customers head-on (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Through comprehending their issues in addition to anticipating their needs of logistics within ever transforming setting, customers can depend on the expertise and quality of the company’s local, regional and global teams; delivering always excellent operations (Gattorna, 2009). Customers can depend on solutions which function harder for business via the company’s dedication to originality and the disciplined method to measurement of performance, project management, quality assurance, process improvement and environmental management. My skills, attributes and values fit very well with the organization that I have identified. This is because I desire to work in an environment where meeting customers’ need in supply chain is fundamental. To work at DHL is about taking responsibility, challenges’ mastering and continuously developing as a member of a wide-ranging and international team (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Another pleasing thing about DHL is that as an element of my professional growth, the company provides a wide array of additional-education programs and courses that provide a graduate with knowledge and skills essential to guarantee my success within the working environment. Implementation of PMS ensures that the company recognizes its employees’ capability early on. This facilitates the company to nurture employee development for the years to come (DHL International GmbH, 2013). Leader profile Steve Jobs was the chief executive officer and chairman of Apple Computers Inc. and possibly, one of the most thriving businessmen in the world (Elliot & Simon, 2011). He established Apple during the 1970s, but the directors’ board chased him out eventually. During 1984, Jobs devised the Macintosh, considered the initial small computer that had a graphic interphase during its time (Gallo, 2011). The entire PC industry would have been revolutionized by the Macintosh. Nevertheless, poor business decision in addition to internal strife with the CEO eventually caused Jobs to depart his own organization. He went to establish other companies namely Pixar and NeXT. Pixar was acquired by Disney Company while NeXT was acquired by Apple Computers Inc (Shea, 2013). With the achievement, he came back in 1996 to Apple Computers Inc. as provisional CEO. Since that moment on, Apple Computer’s rise started once more as the iMac developed. From then, he revolutionized the industry of IT with his innovations like the iPod, iPhone, and MacBook. Since his comeback and under his management, Apple Computers Inc. was brought from fledging organization to an international force to be imagined with (Shea, 2013). In 2009, Steve Jobs had a private net worth $5.1 billion. Although, because of the necessity for a transplant of the liver Jobs considered a break from work from January 2009. He died due to respiratory arrest on October 5 2011, in relation to a metastatic tumor which had developed (Shea, 2013). Why this individual is considered successful and/or inspirational in their life and field of expertise. It is generally acknowledged that Jobs was actually an implausible visionary who made changes in the world (Gallo, 2011). Steve Jobs dropped out of college and landed in the garage of his parents and at one time was fired from his own organization. Despite these challenges, he turned out to be among the world’s leading innovators. Steve Jobs had a natural talent and loved it. This is why he was able to work in the garage of his parents, where his talent lays. And when he got fired at thirty from his own organization, he comprehended the significance of love. What makes his a successful individual is that he realized his natural talent and loved it. Jobs sought to transform lives through changing computers from geeky hobbyist’s fixation to a requirement of contemporary life at home and work. In the course he turned over not only private computing but moreover the music and cell phone industries (Shea, 2013). With regards to change in American industry, Jobs had less rivals. It is important for people to do what they love, regardless of what it turns out to be. Putting a mark in the world basically implies that one has to have clear, bold, and concise vision. Jobs was regarded a serious perfectionist who constantly aspired to place his businesses as well as their commodities at the front position of the IT industry by anticipating and setting styles, in innovation and trends (Elliot & Simon, 2011). Even though a couple of people do not like a setting where merit is expected, a lot was done of Jobs’ demanding and aggressive personality. How learning more about this leader will impact on my future career planning. There are various leadership lessons learnt from Steve Jobs. The first lesson learnt that will impact my future career planning is that persistence is fundamental. It is noted that Jobs was an individual who was very persistent and it is demonstrated when he exited Apple. He did not lose hope, because he went to establish the NeXT computer that was eventually owned by the Apple Computers Inc. Most people in Job’s situation would have lost hope and live the rest of their lives being bitter on their loss (Isaacson, 2011). As a leader, one has to be prepared to encounter setbacks. This is because setbacks are there in life and becoming successful or not frequently depends on one’s capability not to lose hope. This attribute is very important if one wants to create a strong team. The second lesson learnt is that innovation generates leadership. Jobs identified the innovation power in creating his company. Up to now, we can notice the power of innovation of Apple Computers Inc. while it goes on to take leadership market within the industry. In order to maintain proper leadership, one has to be always the one who is continuously up with fresh ideas and fresh initiatives, together in the will of moving the organizational mission ahead (Shea, 2013). Regardless of the industry, constant innovation that aligns with personal mission will maintain someone in front of the group. The results learnt from Steve Jobs’ success will help me plan my future career through exercising some of the attributes like persistence and being innovative. I realize that someone cannot do everything by him or herself. He or she needs people. In summary, someone has to gain knowledge of being a great manager and leader of others if they want to see their wonderful ideas as well as hard work really have a great effect in the universe. Ability of spending great percentage of personal time dedicated to the enterprise signifies passion. Provided the spent time is regarded pleasurable, the passion level is evident. On the other hand, excessively consumed with interest may possibly also reflect some degree of detrimental passion, particularly when the dedication is disrupting other features of the person’s life (Kirschner, 2011). Conclusion In conclusion, this paper has presented organizational profile of DHL Saudi Arabia as well as leader profile of Steve Jobs. This presentation is grounded on the fact that the organization chosen is one that I desire to work for. It is actually fit for my career because of its good management and growth in terms of market since it prides itself as the leading market leader in provision of supply chain solutions. With respect to Steve Jobs, a lot has been learnt that would actually help me plan my future career. His leadership and personality are indeed things to be reckoned with. Bibliography Cavusgil, S.
