It is owned and managed by Australians. Strategic Company Direction Strategic planning is a technique used to determine where a company is headed to in a period of time. A strategic plan is focussed on the whole organization. This is in contrast of a business plan which is focussed on a particular program, service or product. The company has plans to increase its number of stores to 50 per year in Australia. It also has plans for offshore expansion. It has managed to expand its stores to New Zealand. That is it has 6 there already. It has a single store in China. It has also committed itself to develop robust computer technology so as to ensure efficient and effective operations. They strive to ensure that they have strong on-line communications. To enable them to have strong communications with their suppliers, franchisees and customers so as to further develop Michel’s chain. HR SERVICE AGREEMENT This HR Service Agreement defines the terms and conditions under which we provide HR specialist services to a client. This HR Service Agreement is intended for the purposes of formally setting up the relationship between Michele’s Patisserie and Flexi Consultants and to provide the foundation for a healthy business relationship. This Agreement completes the responsibility for Michele’s Patisserie to ensure the quality, compliance and timeliness of the output named in this agreement. HR SERVICES AGREEMENT Scope This Agreement is made on 16th November by and between Flexi Consultants and Michele’s Patisserie with offices at CBD, Sydney. Agreement Objectives Retention and Description of Services During the term of this Agreement, Flexi Consultants will furnish HR services and advice as specifically requested by Michele’s Patisserie, Client and/or Client’s Representative. The services and advice will relate to work being done or planned by Client in the field of HR Services, will be within Flexi Consultant’s technical competence for those marked below: HR Health Check- total assessment of your HR systems in place Strategic planning – setting up processes, implementing HR plans and objectives Equal Opportunity – creating a responsive organisation Performance Management Systems – performance appraisals processing Job Analysis – creating proper job descriptions and specifications Staffing the Workplace – recruiting candidates, developing & using application forms Employee testing, interviewing and selection – types of tests & selection techniques Induction and Training – inducting employees, training techniques and processes Developing HR Managers – On and off the job training, key factors for success Appraising Performance – appraisal methods, appraisals in managing performance Remuneration and Incentives – pricing jobs, low – high level staff incentives Employee/Industrial Relations – legal framework Occupational Health and Safety Systems – planning for OH&S Staff Retention Programs Staff Incentive Programs – motivating employees Other _________________________________________ Terms of Agreement Flexi Consultants shall exclusively provide HR Services as requested by the Client Michele’s Patisserie from 16th November 2010 to 16th November 2011. CLIENT COMPANY ORGANISATIONAL CHART Company Background Michel’s Patisserie was formed in 1987 in a town named Sydney. It was started by Noel Carroll and Noel Roberts who were the joint founders. It started by having a bakery in Hornsby NSW and by the daily delivery of fresh products to two of their stores; Castlecrag NSW and Patisserie Newport. It has grown at a very fast rate and it turns more than $220 million yearly. It has a more than 320 retail outlets all over Australia. It was established and run by Australian. It was launched as a Franchise System in the year 1990. They were able to do this after thorough research into all the store parts which included store design, training, recipes, marketing and distribution. The aforementioned parts were pilot tested in Newport and Castlecrag. After around 16 years of service that is in 2006. Michel Patisserie merged with its franchisee in Victoria and Queensland to form one national franchise business. The business is properly formed and resourced for more growth within Australia. There is sturdy focus on brand direction and marketing which goes hand in hand with the development of novel products and the enforcement of product quality. Michel’s Patisserie being a successful franchise system, being a prominent brand and has innovative distribution model as some its vital strengths. It is predicted that the business is put a proper position that allows it to have notable growth during the years to come. It is one of the most successful patisseries in Australia. It has outlets in New Zealand and is looking to open other outlets in China. It is part of Retail Food Group franchisor. Retail Food Group Retail Food Group is a franchisor and food brand manager located in Australia. It manages the following franchise systems; bb’s cafe, Donut King, Brumby’s Bakeries and Michel’s Patisserie. Retail Food Group was formed in 1989 so as to develop and manage bb’s Coffee & Croissants and Donut King. It focussed on the growth of brands in Australia.
