The education whether in a Micro level or a macro view has its own utilities those have made the Universities and schools as part of Knowledge economy. From a very ancient age, the Humanity has given knowledge development a good amount of focus to have an overall socio-cultural improvement that gives a nation an intellectual and innovation capacity for a better utilization of learning for larger social good. The Universities as the topic suggests are regarded as a place where the students are expected to pursue higher education for further development in work and social life by developing the knowledge further. However, the advent of modern day technologies have brought in new challenges those the traditional Universities are facing and thus seeking an evolution to keep up with the aspirations of the global student’s community. Therefore, the essay would evaluate the strategic Management approach that they are undertaking to deal with the concurrent changes where the Capabilities of Management to deal with such twists and turns of Higher education models (Nonprofit sector yellow book, 1999). Knowledge Management Evolutions in the Internet age upon Higher Educational practices The universities are considered as the center for higher education where the students have the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge of their choice. However, the education in higher phase of University education is a cost related affair where the fees for such learning were considered high and unaffordable to many students of various economies (McIntyre and Alon 2005). Again, in few nations the scopes of learning a particular subject in the universities are not available which acts as a barrier to the educational ambitions of the perspective students. Nevertheless, the information technology has a great role to play in such a case where the students from different cultural, demographical, economical backgrounds can pursue the desired education via the modern day Internet media with an affordable cost sitting at a location of their choice where the dual purpose of education and personal commitments of the students remains unaffected and thus the higher education scope is now opened its doors for all. The virtual class rooms are becoming more and more common where various universities are transforming themselves to incorporate such new ideas. Since education and social health have a direct correlation therefore the UNESCO’s declaration of Education for all across the globe is a notable step forward that seeks equality in education and knowledge access irrespective of the student’s background. It is also evident as per the study of various scholars in Global education studies that the changes in economic systems and government regulations where the transformation in terms of literacy and higher education perusal becomes the need for a positive socio-economic growth (The Sunday Times, 2015). Angels and Savage (2002) noted that the education especially for the higher specialized field of study have an entirely different and unbiased approach. The need for knowledge and right to have it further post primary basic education funded by the Government has been widened to give each aspirant a scope to pursue their further educational needs. Agnivesh (2003) counters that a government as a body is not the right agency to look forward to provide the education cost after certain level except for special cases those were legislated. However, the change in legislative patterns due to the political need of the times has made the revolution and transformation of University dependent higher education accessible for many. The essay would also take the role of the political class in regard to the wholesome approach for such a change from Educational economy role of universities to a more appropriate humane approach towards education for all. The technical advancements have been the key to the internet dependent education delivery across the globe. Kelly (2015) observes that the international geo-political aspects of the decade wise movements by developing nations have made the process materialize. The right to knowledge is now a basic element of human life style globally where the changes in the scope of receiving the education has evolved from the decade old University based education that was meant for few who could afford the amount payable as fees. Further, Universities in such a condition made the scope of education provision services a source of generating Knowledge Economy that was more of an eco-socio class dependent activity. However, the humanitarian approach along with technological advancement of the new age has helped to make education, especially the University oriented activities open and accessible to all. The reason that the universities are now formulating and strategizing the change in the entire outlook of Education system in terms of accessibility and distribution is a result of such aspirations those have been made evident by the modern day socio political situations (McClean and Momiee 2012). One very interesting observation that would also be counted as an agent for such change in education availability approaches by the Universities of the day is the need for specialization and the change in global skill demand patterns. The skills for one job is not saturated in one single location or demographic location but the need is now global where the manpower possessing the required skills are migrating to any corner of the globe where the skills are in need. Here it is also important to note that the economic needs of the various economies are getting more and more competency focused thus they tend to hire the best in the field irrespective of nationality or location barriers. Thus the scope of specialized education is now more in the focus over the traditional education approaches. The need for skills in the changing economy is looking for a complete overhaul in terms of the processes they used to follow. The traditional ways of education for some social cause is now more of economic reasons for the learners. The emerging activities and procedures of Businesses those are technology dependent needs specialized skill sets to be successful. Again, Lathrop and Foss (2000) suggests that the intellectual capital needs are the base to have specializations as in ‘Shop Learning’ for an example. Interestingly the other counter that Linn (2004) proposed is that the people of today’s business world need a continuous learning and development association that is innovation and skill dependent. Hence the continual development and innovation remains the aspect of the business that would give it an edge over its competitors. Hence the rules of acquiring skills and knowledge are now more of prominence where the rules of learning are developing in accordance to the structural change in business. It can also be thought that the Universities have understood the need of the day to have initiated the processes those are being developed and are gaining momentum with time. The e-learning is the word that is much commonly used in this regard. The concept has its own benefits where the observed one are economical, geographical and content wise developments. In such a case the universities have developed the designed modules under the Open University form of education. For an example Harvard-X is a module developed by the Harvard University that has enabled a vast amount of students to get registered in such a course that fetches the with the required knowledge those may be further used in career developments (US.AC.ORG, 2007). This again is cheaper for them for whom the higher education cost makes their perusal of university studies unviable. The students for an example who wish to learn contemporary English Literature needn’t visit Harvard in person to attend those classes from any corner that are being taught by the professors who are considered to be the best in their own field (Roth and Gur-Zev, 2007). Hence, a large amount of student from various places along with a cheaper price for education receipt can now do it keeping their own personal errands at place. Thus the achievement that the facilities like Technology and political will has given mankind the scope to aspire for education at n higher level without much ado. However, the counter in regards to such module also stays where the arguments are strong to be considered seriously. The one of them is that the presence in actual class situation to internet based education has its own demerits as the learner may miss out the disciplined classroom teaching and learning styles (Government and Industry, 1990). Again, the reach of the internet technology in the third world countries also makes the mission half cooked as argued by few. Further, the practical peer group work and practical laboratory based education is missing on internet as the physical applications cannot be demonstrated via internet. Nevertheless, the solutions and innovations in such internet based curriculum is developing in accordance where the feedback mechanism as received from the students and other data sources have helped in developing the courses with time. One interesting fact that the Door Report on International Education Exchange report of 2013 suggests that the year 2012-13 saw a growth of 13, 55,000 more non US students enroll compared to 2011-2012 session. This is an indication of the fact that the popularity of such online media for the distribution of world-class education via internet sources is getting popular each day. Again this effort has fetched 24Billion USD to its economy by the non US students enrolled in the online university certified courses. Thus the effect has a dual advantage where the students from other nations are growing and adding the revenue. Again on the other hand the cost for those students comes cheaper as they needn’t spend anything as near to had they opted for an US based University degree in tradition class room format would have been costlier in normal cases. Therefore the advantages for the parties, the learner and the educator have strategized a good way to make both side have effective benefits for long term sustenance and also facilitate the education for all motto brilliantly (Kelly, 2015). However, much more needs to be done in view of the additions which may be added to make it much more active and participative. Hoodbuoy (2013) observes that the scope of a global interaction, understanding of people, cultures, beliefs and relationship building had been much more consolidated and effective in such advent of internet based communications. Further, Martin et al. (1973) noted that the students who were more keen to visit abroad for international exposures gets the best of such exposures without much troubles that they had a decade back. In this context the International Education week was proposed by UNESCO with the observation that the economic and political interferences along with the nations coordinated efforts to make education for all cause successful has made the mobility better along with inter community communication and diplomatic and business stronger and unified with benchmarking to aid the evaluation processes. The equality in terms of connection of different people on one platform for a particular subject learning has made the cultural awareness better reducing the gap in social class structures and ecological crisis’s those mankind faced to have international standard of higher education out of independent will of the individual willing to learn (Morey, 2010). Conclusion The positivity and negativities encompassing the e-learning schemes has been debated from various angles where the scholars from both the fronts have expressed their views. The researcher after a critical analysis has reached a conclusion that the e-learning processes have brought in some distinct changes that has made the scope for a wholesome change possible. The cultural differences of differentiating in terms of class has got a more positive socialist approach via internet teaching methods where the economy is no more a distinct way to achieve an international Universities degree. The facilities for such learning need further development but even then the ability to give all the equal opportunity to develop has made the strategy popular. This again has been well interpreted by the Education service offering institutes like Universities making the process much more comprehensive and effective to suite the changing need of the day. Part 2: Personal Experience of the Digital behavior in the view of future opportunities Introduction The personal experience of mine with the internet based learning had been a mix of both positivity and negatives which I would discuss herein. However, the individual experience that I would share may not be applicable for all the students who have been a part of such learning practice from the internet based sources. The way that I see internet based learning is on a very positive note where the equality in terms of being associated with best of faculties with an opportunity to experience the different cultures and their aspirations has helped me in developing the view of positivity over the negative aspects that is not as significant in comparisons to the good contributions it has given. Experiences and Social Workforce Contribution Analysis The experience in terms of the digital learning in my view is dependent mostly upon the individual receiving it. However, the learning processes that the universities impart have its own set curriculum those are being disclosed or communicated prior to the enrollment. Nevertheless, the positives that I can suggest that makes the process very attractive to the people who have the desire to learn but are unable to afford the fees needed for such trainings. The Chronicle of Higher Education in 2012 suggests that the alternative or traditional University classroom degree program may cost up to 250,000 USD to the cost of 30 to 100 USD for online education that gives the same amount of educational inputs and certification of equal valuation. This is a proposal that is attractive to many who cannot afford the high cost of traditional university courses (BU.EDU, 2015). One who cannot afford such vast educational cost have the reasons to support the new ways as the reports in recent day surveys suggests that rising cost of education has made the online ways more accepted as the end results are similar. The consumerism in each case is evident in human thought process where the ability to have a product as a lower cost that have similar usage benefits would obviously go for the cheaper product for obvious reasons. The previous essay suggests that the economy of scale in terms of student inputs have been a beneficial attribute for both the educational institutes and the students globally in socio-economic ways. However, the experiences that I have encountered in aspect of being noncommittal in such internet learning processes due to the flexibility of the courses structures those have a different atmosphere which in classroom learning is different. In this regard it may create a distraction making the learner skip a vital part of the learning session. The social networking sites have its presence on the same internet media those may create difficulty in that learning session where the concentration or the activities those the online media have to offer, interrupts. The need of education, especially the higher education is dependent upon the ethical base of developing the human intellectual capacity development (Dasgupta and Sallil, 2010). However, it is a common factor that in my course of doing online learning is that the learner may get engaged in some social network sight while the classes online are in progress. Nevertheless, I also have a point that may be debated in other occasions that how the educators eminent in their own fields finds it in their view. The affectivity of education to enhance competence and cooperation over competitive structures of traditional education along with the aspect of interest to know over forced education systems are well facilitated by online teaching or not needs more insight probably. Again the purpose that online education may pursue to follow needs more human touch where the narrow national interest should have a global outlook for the humanity development where the online media has served the idea of mutual understanding and sharing over dominative attitude of knowledge base building. These social and ethical approaches have made me realize how effective the online media for education and skill development can be when used in a fashion that has the idea of good research incorporated in it. The aspect of skill development as discussed is one of those few key offerings that the new era education has given us. The experience of the process in a more detailed way is put forth considering the nations which are underdeveloped would have the ability to access the world class education from their native space at a cost that is nearly null considering the traditional higher education costs. The sub-Saharan Africa, Middle Eastern nations, Latin American economy, South Eastern Asia are few of those places on the globe where the humanity had been deprived of world class education thereby making the national development along with personal aspirations of development restricted to a smaller space for them who could afford a foreign degree (AUGSA., 2015) . A vast majority were not in this list of educated group of people that has kept the nations and their economy in tatters for quiet long. Thus the internet education has come as a boon to many aspirants globally. The opportunities that now these people of the third world nations have are at par with developed nation manpower capital. From a Management angle it is safe to say that the people managing the business would look for the best skills which if one can show to possess would give them the edge to get the opportunity over the rest. Thus the transformations have a dual effect where the person themselves can compete in a global level and thereby can help themselves and the national economy alike. Therefore the nations who are receiving and experiencing the utilities associated with higher education as a catalyst for a better economy and social health. The research that I did from various sources has given the idea about the need for higher education for struggling economies. The scope of social transformation and orchestration of a wider cultural tolerance is an aspect that the world and the multinational business needs. Universities for a long time, has been regarded as a media of wider social transformation which has acted to develop skill sets to facilitate the needs for skills and knowledge for social-eco development. Therefore the role of universities in transforming from its traditional approach of classroom education to internet learning had been a part of the transformation that the society looked for a long time (Perry and Sherlock, 2008). Technology enabled it and therefore the strategizing for such course development to have a global availability of skills has been successful. The effects are visible in social transformation, inter relationship development where students of various cultures understands and assess each other making the understanding of cultural and demographic differences reduced to such a point where the humanity via education has got the desired integration (Osipian, n.d.). Facilitation of new cultural dimensions, changes in outlook, respect for other cultures, value creations’ are all but part of such changes in learning modes. However, the flexibility of class room lectures is lesser in terms of its fixed schedule due to its location vantage that has specific timings set for subjects to be learned. Further, in the case of the time zone gaps the process may encounter its own problems for the learner and the providers too as the manpower or the teacher’s cost would rise due to the shift scheduling to entertain a bunch of students at various corners on the wide world. The reflections from my own digital behavior would suggest few disadvantages that have been encountered in the process. Since the internet has the online learning and social media assessing ability in tandem, where the parts were missed by me those had its own vital inferences due to the social media use. This is a mistake but the practical solution for such problems are but same yet at times we choose not to stick to it due to our nature. The skill set development efforts those are aimed by such learning sessions do not always have the option to have a proper laboratory based practical application for shop teaching subjects. This has its own perils where the workforce development aims remains unachieved which a class room educational style of traditional nature may give. In this context the great saying of 1858 published ‘Idea of University’ by J.H. Newman suggested that the institution of university has to be the place where there is communication and exchange of thoughts by interactions between different people across a wide range of humanity to be called a place for higher education, thus termed university (Victorrey, 2012). Therefore the defined purpose is well met by the option given by Internet Leanings as the scope to exchange ideas, across various minds, various cultures and subjects making the idea sharing and affectivity of the process easier. Nevertheless, I have my own observations in this regards where the confusion about the benefits of online education upon the actual users is yet to be determined. This is in regards to the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the system. The number of enrolled students is undoubtedly in plenty and the scope is becoming larger each day however, the quality of learning or the techniques of assessments still remains a subject yet to be interpreted to conclude about the actual offerings of the process. Again the processes adapted for the development of skill sets for economic benefits for national business growth needs seems to be a wrong justification when we consider the resources available is in ability and task based educating would prove efficiently competent for the economy. However, both the aforesaid aspects are to be assessed in details as the sources available in secondary data do not give a conclusive deductive aspect of online educations success or failure in contrast to the traditional University dependent class room teaching techniques. The US social science scholars of 1960’s gave an idea that unity in socio-eco class based society can successfully achieve equality through educational interactions, where higher education has a role (Stiller-Dale, 2005). Further, the justification presented as that the social growth and economic equality in a classic capitalist economy can be achieved as the skill sets irrespective of backgrounds would enable the right man for right job so that the right to have higher skills for few who could afford needs to end. Therefore, the idea of Government funding for higher educational subsidy was derived as a solution for social economic equality (Wood, 1990). However, the actual success of the said theory came into being after the internet revolution made the possibility to conduct the social experiment to demonstrate a national economic stability and growth is now an option to evaluate. Nevertheless, the connectivity problems due to some technical figure keeps the risk of missing a session but the occasion of connectivity in 21st Century is not a big problem. Therefore, the value judgment of educational success can thus be critically subdivided for my own personal learning interest as any subject undertaken or offered and the choices in today’s world are in plenty where being a cheap way that methodically approach to a certified degree from various universities makes it great choices to access. The interactions between a variety of demographically apart people and feel the humanities need and interest for being knowledgeable has made the aptitude to have cultural competence in me. Conclusion The electronic mail and then the Internet based skill and knowledge development projects has changed the world we observe today than it was even a decade ago. The trial of bringing out the aspects of positives and negatives has been tried to evaluate the internet classroom learning to the traditional university classroom based traditional ways of learning. The idea as a socio-economic element had been successful till date and that too within 2008 to date with constant updating and modifications.
