Strengths Analysis and Future Development Strategies Knowledge, Skills, and Talents Differences Knowledge is the aspect of information that is utilized during performances of various functions (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). It can also be reviewed in the practical and theoretical features that are applied in the presentation of various activities. Knowledge has to be administered directly in the perpetration of allocated duties. It ranges in individuals depending on determinants of knowledge. Skills are observable features mostly competence levels that are distinguished during the accomplishment of various activities (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). They have to be developed through consistent training and experience. Skills are difference from knowledge in that process involved in the transfer of knowledge lead to the development of skills. Talents are the abilities to execute observable behaviors that lead to distinguishable aspects (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). They can also be reviewed in terms of competence held by various individuals that can be used to perform unique activities. The main differentiator between the three principles can be described in terms of whether the aspect was learnt or attained from external sources. For example, one has to manipulate the present knowledge to gain proficient skills. Additionally, most talents are in build whereby individuals are born with them or learn about their abilities as they grow up. The observation of talents may depend on the situations that an individual has to perform. Its the attained skills may also help in the realization of talents. Skills and talents before you take the inventory and why should they be valued by a company The accrued knowledge is about the comprehension of the company's activities and operations. It includes the use of attained data to execute activities that are advantageous to the firm. Skills include the handling of clients and technology present in a company with the aim of attaining the set objectives. They also include my professional attributes that lead to job efficiency and competency strategies. My talents consist of computing complex numbers at a short time and first typing skills. The two talents can be helpful to the firm's data entry or bookkeeping. RESULTS OF THE STRENGTH FINDER INVENTORY My top 5 themes Competition It is one of the first aspects to locate using the inventory. Competition can be highlighted through performances in various activities (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). It can be described is the rivalry feeling that drives an individual towards better results. The theme has helped me in my educational and workplace aspects. Competition is part of the driving forces of companies; hence the need to employ competent workers. The theme assists in increasing individual productivity since the main motivational factor is motivation to end up in first position. There are other motivators such as prizes that may cause an individual to enhance the competition levels. The strength has helped in my efficient skills whereby I prefer working in competitive fields due to the inspiration. Additionally, there are other factors illustrated by the strength finder regarding competition such as the urge to influence others. Competition falls into the control sector where an individual has the need to become a team leader and instill the changes to other employees. Responsibility It is the sense of possessing control over other individuals or various situations. The strength can be revealed by the need to become a leader during team work. The trait can be highlighted through accountability issues when it comes to social places. Responsibility can be based on individual and group mentality. Individually, I am always accountable for my action at workplaces. The feature assists in efficient production strategies. It includes handling work with rational aspects. Socially, responsibility features consist of handling groups and workplace relationships with accountability matters. Companies require their leaders to be accountable of their action and decisions. There are also policy making processes that require individuals to be responsible due to the number of employees being affected by the policies. The theme increases personal and group awareness because of the extra input of care while executive activities. It may be learnt or controlled by various determinants such as the sensitivity of the operations being carried out in the firm. Responsible leaders have higher chances of increasing productivity. Strategic This theme includes facing various situations with precision to acquire the set goals and objectives (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). It can be revealed by evaluating approaches used to resolve different difficulties. According to my situation, I have to lay strategically down plans before settling a dispute or working in unfamiliar places. It assists in highlighting weak points in the activity that can be used to resolve the issue. Being strategic in a workplace assists in saving time and costs. Decisions can be made rationally without the affecting anyone. Additionally, being strategic works as a motivator for competitive situations. Strategies made have direct impacts on the competition levels. Companies have strategic policies used to overcome competition and other problems facing production. The plans are approached by workers with sufficient knowledge so that the problem can be resolved without possibility of a comeback. Planning also helps in management strategies where activities are issued specific periods. Positivity The theme can also be referred to as optimism (Buckingham and Clifton, 2001). The strength finder presents the theme through monitoring various factors such as having positive though and making positive decisions. Positivity can be described as the key to success in various situations that require waiting and making decisions. I have been optimistic in various situations at the workplace such as waiting for stock prices to increase. Positivity also includes taking leaps of faith while entering new markets and seeking new customers. Having a perfect strategy will assist in increasing positivity levels. Learner The theme deals with the will to accumulate more information depending on the situations an individual is exposed to in the society. I am a learner at the workplace whereby I have to adapt to new changes in the office. Learning may be through apprenticeship and training sessions to help in accumulating knowledge. Being open to changes in the office makes an individual to learn at faster rates and increase productivity. Additionally, consisting of competition traits will help one in becoming a learner since there is the need for enhanced knowledge to help in overcoming rivals. Comparison on what you thought about yourself before taking the inventory The inventory has helped me comprehend themes that I had not identified in the past. The themes are related by having different connections that explain my traits. The strength finder inventory has exposed my positive personality that I did not know existed. The strengths will assist in developing my skills at the workplace despite the presence of setbacks. MY FIT I am a good fit for the American Airlines. I would be successful through incorporating my strengths into the firm's operational standards. Since the firm deals with human relations between workers and passengers, my social skills would guarantee customer satisfaction. Individual competition strategies would assist in the Airline's fight against the threat of rivalry as illustrated in the market analysis. Additionally, I being a good learner will help in gathering more technological knowledge that could help the company in its global operations. The company would build my personal skills because of its high levels of employment and worker relationships. Working with professionals will assist me by providing unique competent information. CONCLUSION/DEVELOPMENT PLAN Global company managers have to portray various unique skills that help the firms in international market competition. Becoming a global manager will require having strategic approaches that assist in comprehending the market situations. Analysis of markets and competitor strategies will ensure an advantage over rivals. A continued supply of knowledge will guarantee upgrades in the company to enhance competition strategies. A good manager should also consist of good leadership skills that will assist in guiding and monitoring the large amounts of employees.
