Sur Analysis of Films and Texts Concepts in “A Female Boss” and “My Sassy Girl” The two films are centered on the aspects of modernization and the post modernization in the contemporary world. They tend to share these two factors in a number of ways. These are shown through the roles played by the actors in the films. To for instance, “A Female Boss” relates to some form oppression in the society especially in the Korean society. This is represented in the postmodern and feminist concepts that are also echoed in “My Sassy Girl”.

The protagonist in this case is a very strong female character who tries to show how she is indeed very pre- modern. This has not been shown in full strength as the director tries to bring out the influx of the feminists in the Korean population. This led even to the country banning the feminist film festivals. The country is in fierce fight to cope with the feminists’ theory. The other minorities such as the culture of the youth and the homosexuals are indeed apprehended in the end. This provides a subtle way to the transformation and the westernization of Korea (Cho Hae-joang 87).

“My Sassy Girl” is indeed a very entertaining film. It could be described as a romantic comedy that is otherwise called a melodrama. It is a very humorous film that tries to give the reverse of the life that takes place in South Korea. The protagonist in the film can be seen bossing around Gyun – woo without upholding respect to the authority. He tries to resent his position, but after a short while he decides to accept the subservient position he is currently holding. He does this out of love, care and the concern to cure the girl’s sorrows.

The girl has been facing hardships in the recent past and needs some comfort. This shows how the women are vulnerable in the society due to their inferiority nature in the society (Cho Hae-joang 67). Unity of Woman and Mother in “Three Days in that Autumn” and “Mother” The text “Three Days in that autumn” is considered as an austere. It is almost a frigid account that tries to explain of a gynecologist who engages in acts of abortion as her main practice. It refers to the specific time of the story alongside the narrator’s position in her entire life.

She has been living with the depression that she suffered as a several years ago rape. This shows the role of women or the spirit of motherhood in the society that is dogged with moral decadence in the society (Cho Hae-joang 65). This is also echoed in the film “Mother” where the spirit of killing is termed as merciful yet very erroneous and against the law. It tries to explain the vices in the society that the current society tries to take as morals yet they are not very human. This is seen when the narrator tries to differ with the religious groups concerning the whole idea of abortion in the society.

Aspect of Human Rights in the Film “No Regrets” The film ‘No Regrets’ is a classic movie setup that revolves around the crimes in the society. The main character Chafin has just killed the entire family and then ends up shooting himself. The hero in this film is the detective who has been called to the crime scene for investigation purposes. Nonetheless, the movie tries to explain the aspects of identity, communism and the issues surrounding human rights in the society (Cho Hae-joang 98).

Other decadence in the society like divorce is also depicted in the film. The detective is a divorced therapist who has some commitment; thus, tries to exercise the role of being very empathetic to the criminals in the society. This enables him to have a perception that is beyond the crime that the laymen could see in the cases of cries in the society. Works Cited Cho Hae-joang.
