Personal Branding Personal branding can be defined as the process by which one determines or realizes who they are through self-actualization. It is how one learns his or her full potential. Self-actualization helps one to set their goals in life. This is determined when one has discovered their capabilities. It entails letting others see the best in you and make yourself have a good picture in the public. Everyone already has a brand; a way in which they are that makes them unique to others. Personal branding entails making the brand better and maintaining its superior state. Personal branding has become so crucial in the modern world such that employers tent to analyze the brand of their potential employers during interviews. This makes it important to improve one’s brand so that you appear to have a strong one that others find reliable. It entails one knowing their strengths and using them at their advantage to boost their self-esteem. The aim is to come up with a good working brand for the different careers one may get in, know their strengths, challenges and how to overcome them. Personal branding applies to everyone and not only those who are in the limelight. It helps one in their daily activities as it boosts their confidence, making them stand out in the crowd. It also helps to improve their communication skills and tend to speak with authority. A high personal brand helps one to appear the better one even in places where there are people with the same academic qualifications as them. It also helps one to appear superior before others and creates a good memorable impression. The most important factor when improving ones brand is the originality of your brand. The brand should be authentic, and you should not try to be someone else. You must know yourself and what you would like for yourself. You should also take time to know more about yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and values, and most importantly, your skills. Ones occupation may determine the brand that one wants to be. People with high-ranking jobs tend to have stronger brands than their counterparts with low-ranking jobs. This is because they are in a position where they are the ones who give out the rules and answer to very few people. Online brands help one have a more appealing view from the audience, while a good offline brand helps to boost ones values like confidence and posture since the interaction with the crowd is more real. One should learn to live according to the standards that their brand require them to be in. For example, if it demands that you to be hardworking, you should prove that you are by not being lazy. A flexible brand helps to switch between different careers without having any problems (Tim 46). Establishing your e-brand 1. A Google search of my name (Darlene) gives results about a rock song by popular English rock band Led Zeppelin. This is not a bad result for the name, although it portrays a casual theme to the name, and, to some extent, it would sabotage my quest for a good job. Another search result is that of Darlene Zschech, a gospel songwriter from Australia. She is also a Pentecostal worship leader. This is the type of result that gives just the required result for a serious job seeker. It portrays a serious and dependable person who can be entrusted with many things because of the good Christian background. The third search result is about zschech’s song, Hopes for Humanity. This is a song dedicated to the victims of the ongoing Syria crisis. It is a touching song about the suffering and the troubles of the victims of the war. 2. Only one of the search results has a negative picture for the name Darlene. It gets hard to change the website of a rock band that has its own copyright issues, reaching the band would also be a fruitless effort. That would just remain the way it is, to some extent, it lowers my brand but the strengths outweigh it, and only a pessimist would us that against me. To remove any bad or ill motive updates from my Facebook account, I would ask friends and family to try to clean up the content of their updates and make them look more official. This would give anyone who is stalking me the impression of a serious person who is capable of handling responsibilities. 3. To add more credit to my name, I would write blogs and articles that relate to matters such as the essence of having humanitarian aid going to some of the suffering regions of the world such as the suffering families in sub-Saharan Africa, who have no food or shelter, despite their adverse conditions. This shows that I am a person who minds the welfare of others. Then, afterwards, I would seek endorsement from my lecturers of human relations and religious studies to add on my list of referees. 4. I would write an article to criticize the policy of deporting immigrants to other countries, despite their being so poor and helpless. They should be given good care and accepted into the countries they go, at least as refugees, but not thrown outside as if they do not have the right to live. In this article, I would put in a line from some of the world’s great heroes like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela who are known for their humanitarian acts. As I arrange to put up my own website, I would use friendly cheaper options and links that would help me put up more humanitarian information to the Internet. This would make me more easily accessible to many people and the information would reach many people, on putting up a website I would add more like-minded individuals to help me come up with many articles and blogs on the humanitarian issues. This is a way of winning the hearts of people while at the same time in reach out to many people. 5. Benevolence is the act of doing the good things only, people with such brands tend to be selfless and care so much about others. Such people are best suited for job that entail being at the service of others. The Christian individualism of the Quacker has a belief that everyone has some light in them despite how much dark and selfish they might seem from the outside, shedding light on their softer part makes it bigger and can change them to be good people as a whole and not partially. 6. He owns an academy in Geneva and is known for his many humanitarian acts, he has written many articles pertaining to humanitarianism, such include; human rights, human rights lexicon, and obligations of non-state actors. Cecile aptel works for the United Nations as the high commissioner of human rights. Fasto Pocar is the vice president of the institute of international humanitarian law in San Remo. For 16 years, he worked for the human rights committee.
