Liberalisation of markets, services, standardization and integration of economies are considered as the hallmark of the globalization. Opening of economy and increased interdependence on global market has contributed effectively to the economies of both developing and developed countries. China is considered as one of the emerging economies around the globe. The small family run private owned hospitality firms are achieving significant growth rate due to China’s open economy policy and globalization. On the other hand, it is quite challenging for an organization within this sector to manage the workforce and business performance inside or outside of the country. Recently china achieved potential economic growth rate due to globalization, open door policy and economic reformation. It is true that the business environment in China is becoming highly potential as well as competitive. Several organizations within the small family run private owned hospitality organizations are adopting different strategies in global market place in order to develop potential client base and gain significant competitive advantages. Despite the financial advantages, the management of these Chinese firms faces several issues in foreign market places due to globalization. However, globalization has several advantages and disadvantages on the management of these firms that will be discussed in the discussion part. Positive Impacts of Globalization Several leading organizations are trying to capitalize on the opportunities that are developed due to globalization. Government of China introduced open door policy. It helped the country to achieve significant economic growth as the demand for different products is increasing among the Chinese people. In addition to this, several organizations are focusing Chinese market to gain potential competitive advantages. The Chinese small family run private owned hospitality firms are contributing effectively to the economic growth of the country. These organizations are trying to focus on international market places due to different advantages of globalization. First of all, the organizations can create effective demand for their products and services after achieving significant success in Chinese market. China is considered as one of the largest consumer markets around the globe in which the buying and selling activities account more comparing to other developed and developing countries (Thai, Rahm and Coggburn, 2007, p.265). Generally the management of these organizations decides to implement global expansion strategy as the demand for a particular service among the global customers can be increased due to globalization. It influences the organizations to expand their business operation practices in global market place. It is important for an organization to maximize business profit by developing a potential client base in global market place after expanding business operations in international market. Globalization allows the organizations to take potential business advantages and help the organization to increase their brand awareness in international market places (House-Soremekun and Falola, 2011, p.243). Chinese family owned small hospitality firms used to maintain Chinese tradition in the business operation and customer service to satisfy the needs of visitors or guests. In addition to this, specialized Chinese food items in hotels are quite popular among the people around the globe. These organizations are developing potential client base with the help of maintaining traditional Chinese culture in each and every business operation process. It is true that several small firms used to adopt workplace diversity aspect in the organization due to its several advantages. Globalization allows management of the organization to recruit employees from different cultural background. There are several advantages of maintain multicultural workforce in business operation process. It is true that knowledge, skills and perception of people used to vary due to different cultural background. Effective knowledge sharing and collaborative work performance helps an organization to give effective solution to several internal and external issues that are effective for an organization in international market place. Therefore, multicultural workforce and knowledge of employees of different culture and languages can help the management of these firms to attain significant growth rate in the host country. Globalization helped several organizations to source effective technological resources for the purpose of effective business performances. Negative Impacts of Globalization It is true that organizations can gain several advantages from globalization, such as multicultural diverse workforce, financial profitability and potential client base. Despite these advantages the organizations face several difficulties due to globalization. Global business environment is becoming highly competitive as several organizations are trying to adopt and implement advanced strategies in the business operation processes. Global small family run private owned hospitality organizations are adopting several aggressive operation management strategies in order to gain competitive advantages. It is quite difficult and highly challenging for the management of these organizations to avoid the threat of intense competition in global market place (Taylor, 2012, p.114). Demand for hospitality services and products are significantly increasing among the people around the globe.
