This essay addresses the impact of cultural lifestyle of people living in the business potential area. The facts in this essay have a basis in the cultural presumption. The trend in the business growth has a lot of diversity and spreads globally (Hinds, 2006). Therefore, it is necessary for managers to have universal management techniques to have the capacity to work across the globe with varying cultures.

For managers to excel, they have to work together with social, political and economic lives of the people they serve. An American scholar, Geert Hofstede studied the influence of moral values in workplaces (MacWilliams, 2005). He did the study in different nations and compared the differences in culture among organizations. Bob Waisfisz further elaborated the model on organizational culture. In definition, culture refers to the mindsets that differentiate categories of people. In understanding the study, data collection on the employees in different organizations took place and analysis done to come up with a concrete generalization.

The representative data covered about seventy countries. The execution of the study took place between 1967 and 1973 (MacWilliams, 2005). Geert grouped the statistical data in clusters. Some of the clusters include individuality, power distance and long-term orientation added later by Bond (Jarvis, 2005). Power distance refers to the expectations the people from different organizations have to have unequal distribution of powers. In the cultures having low power distance, normally experience democratic relations (Jarvis, 2005).

People with Low Power Distance feel that they are all equal and acknowledged power based on individual positions (Jarvis, 2005). The people in the society accept and respect the decisions made by those in authority. Individualism refers to the manner in which division of people in groups takes place. In these kinds of societies, emphasis is on the success of individuals (Veiga et al., 2011). The society expects the members of the same family take care of themselves meaning that there is no collective responsibility.

Long-term orientation concerned with the societies that put more emphasis on the future. The concern of people in this grouping is to put in place values that will bear fruits in the years to come. The score based on cluster index is essential for quality management. The use of the index is to compare different societies in different countries. Before a business ventures in another country, the managers should do a thorough study on the cultural behavior of the people to be able to make sound policies.

Power distance, for example, relates closely to inequality in a country and is necessary for new managers to understand. Individualism can represent national wealth while long-term orientation has bases in international relations (Veiga et al., 2011). There are critical elements in individual or group behavior that affect international organizations. These behaviors affect the leadership in a country. Peoples are lead depending on what they believe. For a business to excel, customer service must be in line with the people’s cultural beliefs.

Consumers behave differently globally and hence it is vital to have all these diverse behaviors scrutinized by the management team. Services outsourcing may vary from region to region (Zahedi & Gaurav, 2011). In developing countries with a high rank of individualism, there might be cheap labor available, and this reduces a company’s costs.
