Micro Organizational Behavior Micro Organizational Behavior In our Quick connect game; there are a number of words that the team members will learn in the game. In chapter 1, they will learn organizational behavior: this is the understanding how to shape human behavior to the need of the organization, focused on personality, motivation, and group dynamics. In the game, the teams will be working as a group. Dynamics in groups as well as personality will be established from similarities in the words written on the card.

Since people differ in personality, their thinking also differs and therefore it will be rare for them to write similar words. Chapter two will offer “Discourse” as a word learned according to our game. Discourse refers to the way people think and this reflects actions. People are different in the manner in which they think and act. In the game, it is the reasonability anyone who sees the 30 seconds pass to end the round by making a loud noise of their decisions. As such, the game tests on reflex actions of people which are determined by their individual thinking.

Culture change will as well be learned by the teams. These are usually the planned changes to selected aspects of an organization’s culture beyond the mission statement, values and symbolism. Considering the game, players will be interacting as they play. As such, they adjust to each other’s thinking and end up winning through common matches in the word written of cards. In chapter three, the game will help players learn personality. This is the culmination of a person’s traits that make them individual.

The game rule says that those to begin are those who have known each other the least time. Socialization depends on the personality of people so that they can interact faster or take more time to know each other. In addition, this game will help team member to learn about the social identity theory. According to this theory, players discover their own identity through connection with other groups. As such, individual players will discover their ability through interaction in the game and within the particular groups playing.

Matching terms will imply that at least the players have the same taste and therefore background in words written on the cards. A number of terms and words will be learned in chapter six using this game. In the first place, they will learn reinforcement. This is an event that strengthens an operant response if it is experienced after that response occurs. We are told that the game winning rule requires that each point is awarded for every matching words of a team. For every point earned, move player piece one spot on the board.

Points act as incentives to help player work hard and ensure that more words match within teams so that they win. This goes hand in hand with continuous reinforcement in which a desired behavior is rewarded every time it occurs. We are told points are awarded for every matching word. This makes them to be persistent in getting similar words. Informal learning which is learning based on daily experiences is clear in the game. The more the teams participate in the game, the higher the chances of winning following experience to the words used in the game.

Chapter seven shows that the game will help players have instinct. This is the unconscious drives such as sex, hanger and survival. Everybody would want to remain in the game and win continuously. As such, they will develop instincts as to what their partners have written down due to that close interaction. Self-efficacy in this game is seem when teams that participate in the game must have that confidence in themselves before facing the challenge of card word writing. This goes hand in hand with intrinsic motivation where the players have inner drives to participate and win the game not because of anything else but to understand the game more.

Points earned at each level of matching words act as extrinsic incentives. As a result, the players will understand what extrinsic motivation is all about. Points are external factors that make them to brainstorm so that more words match. On the other hand, chapter 8 will help players in the game to learn role ambiguity. This is based on the fact that a participant is uncertain of their role in the game. The game has complicated rules which might contribute to role ambiguity. Reference: Wagner, J. et al. (2009).
