International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management (3) The International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management offers an insight into the existing market related factors and environment that are currently affecting traditional (brick and mortar) retail establishments. The retail environment is highly competitive, and this traditional marketing platform remains under constant attack by an ever evolving and increase online and direct marketing competition base. Reason for Using: This journal is not affiliated with any specific retail or distribution organization as such, which allows for objectivity in publications, whilst targeting readers and users of this journal on a more "realistic" (real life) scenario without focussing solely on theory but rather incorporating practicality therein. International Journal of Bank Marketing Bank Marketing arguably falls into a category of its own, based upon the regulatory and governing "rules" which impact upon any strategic direction the marketers wish to take. Marketers within this industry are therefore arguably pushed to the limit in coming up with relevant and targeted marketing messages based upon these facts. Reason for using: Based upon the above, the creativity and insight of marketers may well be stifled by regulatory requirements and therefore "out of the box" solutions and creatives are required within their defined parameters. These can be transferred across other industries too, and expanded upon in a less regulated environment. Career Development International Organizations need to continually adapt to the environment in order to develop, as well as develop their employees. This extends into the attraction and retention of staff, which is done so on a marketing of the organization basis. Of the techniques and tactics used and published within this journal, marketers could possibly use this important information within their marketing strategies. Reason for using: Career choices are a major component in many peoples lives. In order to attract top talent companies are increasing engaging within marketer aspects of luring candidates to their organizations. By utilising researched and proven marketing strategies, these companies succeed in attracting and retaining this talent. The use of these techniques and aspects of marketing used by these companies highlight the social importance of specific criteria within a defined demographic and these elements can be incorporated into a retail marketing aspect. The Journal of Marketing A publication for marketers by marketers, providing in depth research and analysis of industry occurrences and marketing activities. This journal professes ethics and ethical reporting on marketing initiatives and strategies. Reason for using: Considered one of the top marketing journals within the industry. The Journal of Marketing has been in existence for many years, and according to the website marketingpower.com the underlying American Marketing Association "can be traced to the early 1900’s when the National Association of Teachers of Advertisers and American Marketing Society, comprised of marketers and marketing researchers, merged to bring together all marketers, across all specialties to collaborate and inspire one another."
