This organization operates by the help of government funding and the funds that are collected by the help of donations. This paper shall deal with some of the main problems that are being faced by this organization currently, as these are the problems that have been the main reason for the lack of proper profit and revenue generation by the organization. These problems need to be addressed in this paper along with their plausible solutions so that the profits and the revenues are generated in a stable manner. Introduction Bird homes has three main houses and these are known as the Pheasant House (PH), Robin House (RH) and Kite House (KH) and these are made for the purpose of supporting the people who are unable to support and take care of themselves. Bird Homes has been supporting these important clients by the help of the funding that are provided by the government. The funding that is provided by the government is the one that helps in creating the facilities for the clients and these are the finances that are balanced in the end of each year. Recently some problems have been impeding the operations at the Bird Homes. It is a fact that has been realised at the Bird Homes that the clients are more important as these are the stake holders for the organisation. According to Alavi, and Leidner, (2001) and Mullins (2007) that the organisation is not built with the people who work for the organisation, as a fact the customers make up the organisation. The clients are to be given the facilities that they require and the services that are to be provided to the clients are the ones that have to be entertained in all ways that can make them feel comfortable and be at a better place. Mahoney, and Pandian, (1992) and Hales (2001). say that providing the better services to these customers can help in increasing the customer base of the organisation and the clients can be increased. These are the main aims that are to be achieved by the Bird Homes now. In order to increase the customer base it is necessary that the issues and the problems that are being faced by the organisation at the moment are identified, realised, and there solutions aligned in the strategic manner. These are the problems that can be a hindrance in building the customer base by providing them with all the possible facilities. The first main problem that is being faced by the Bird Homes is that the financial issues are causing hindrances in the operations of the organisations. There is a constant increase in the maintenance cost and the costs of operations and these are the main hindrances in the operations that have an importance in the organisation. In the case of the maintenance issues it has been seen that the buildings that Bird Homes has is old and the material is aging that causes the higher maintenance costs. Thereby here the maintenance costs and the operation costs need to be reduced. Cost cut implementation is needed. Becker, and Gerhart, (1996) and Gvishiani, (2007) say that if the maintenance budget is lowered than the results can be poorer thereby a cost cut implementation is necessary. In addition to this, the equipment, which is being used by the staff in the organisation, is older with no logistics usage. Recommendations The food bills and the fuel bills are the ones that have been rising and these need to be addresses and strategically solved. It can be seen that the cost as estimated is £5,000 per bed and this is highest since the lasts years. This cost is higher because of the higher maintenance costs and this is to be reduced by changing the older materials and replacing it with the newer and better beds and equipments. Flynna, Schroederb, and Sakakibarac have argued the importance of the equipment, (1994) saying that the equipment needs to be renewed with the usage of the better and more strategic installations of the logistics along with the better customer and client services software that can help improve the efficiency. It has been argued by many researchers including Mahoney, and Pandian, (1992) that the marketing is vital for the growth of an organisation and in this case it has been seen that the marketing strategies that are adopted by the Bird Homes are the ones that are not very fruitful and efficient to invite more of the customers. It has been added by Reason, (2000) that the marketing strategies are the ones that have to be defined and researched in a strategic manner by the marketing researchers in the organisations. Marketing resources and activities are to be managed. Bird Homes marketing managers are the ones who need to realise their responsibilities, as these are responsible for influencing the timings, level and the positions of the customer demands. In this case, the main function is that of the organisation’s human resources as these are to realise their responsibilities of recruiting skilled marketing researchers and managers. The business-oriented culture of the organisation is to be developed and enhanced by the addition of the skilled marketing as well as the finance employees. Annual cost that is received by bird home is £27,500 per client and this is the amount that is being spent on the clients and their homes. However, it has to be seen that this is the cost that also includes the list of complex demands that are often raised by the clients that need to be accommodated as well. A client on an annual basis costs about costs £7,500 per year including the food, fuel and the supplies. There is a larger difference between the amount that is received from the client and the amount that is being spent on the client and this is the difference that is to be minimised thereby the clients gets all the services that are being anticipated by bird homes. It has to be realised that these are the clients who are to be served in the best possible manner for their highest satisfaction as these are the clients who are the stakeholders for the bird homes. Some of the most alarming figures that have been seen are the decreasing number of the staff at the three homes. These are the staff that has been hired in order to take care of the clients in the homes. In spite of the deceasing number of the staff the costs that are being invested on the staff are still higher. The staff that is employed at the Bird Homes are the ones who are highly specialised in their fields. The annual cost that is being invested on the staff in the homes is around £35,000. The figures show that the staff in the homes is in the lesser number as compared to the higher number of the clients in the homes. Thereby there are two main needs that are to be addressed, the human resources are to realise the fact that the staff is to be increased in the homes that can take care of the clients in the proper manner. The second main issue that needs to be resolved is the lowering of the cost to a certain level that is being spent on the staff. In addition to this the staff here at the Bird Homes needs to be supervised by the mangers who need to realise the fact that the staff has to realise their responsibilities that most vitally includes the better services provision to the clients. It has been argued by many researchers including Alavi, and Leidner, (2001) that another main solution that can be pondered over is the funding. It is a fact that the operations of the organisation are based on the funding that is received from the government thereby from the taxpayers. F this funding is increased than the greater amount can be used for the rebuilding and refurbishing of the Bird Homes buildings thereby reducing the maintenance costs in the future. The logistics and the customer services centres are the ones that cane b gradually developed by utilising a part of the funding on an annual basis. Conclusion The main issues that are being faced by the Bird Homes are the higher maintenance and the operational costs. The competition with the other home providers is higher and it has been seen that the marketing of the Bird Homes has not been effect enough in order to stand in the competition. The human resource managers in the organisation are to realise their responsibilities and it has to be made sure that the hiring are done in the organisation increasing the skilled people who are skilled in conducting better marketing researchers and advertising the Bird Homes in a strategic manner. The second main issues that has to be realised include the increase in the staff in the Bird Homes as it can be seen that the number of clients in each of the three homes is higher and these are the clients that are to be served well. The maintenance cost is the main figure that has to be reduced it can only be done be making the investments on the rebuilding and the construction costs.
