Leadership and Supervision This research compares The of Houston Organizational Leadership and Supervision Degree from the University of South Carolina Organizational Leadership (USCOL) and Supervision Degree. This research unveils similarities and differences between the two segments on reaffirming their roles in the two societies. The research underscores the essence of recruiting more industry professionals especially in Oil and Gas into the University of Houston OLS Degree. This article, therefore, contrasts HUOLS with University of Carolina counterpart for the betterment its current policy. Area of Focus: Industry Professionals: The University of Houston tailored the course under the name Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS) but the University of South Carolina offers the course under the name Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership. In the University of the South Carolina (USC), the course markets itself in the community as basing on the Human side of commerce management process. It provides Organizational leadership for people in various industries focusing on encouraging and motivating employees in execution and implementation of the organizational change. These two courses are vital in the development of the management personnel in the in the oil and gas industry thus enhancing profitability, maximizing outputs and creating standard operational mechanisms. The USC leadership degree aims at enhancing human leadership through motivation of the employees and facilitation of organizational change. In contrast, HUOLS aims at availing trainees or students with a competitive edge while undertaking leadership and enhanced supervisory responsibilities, especially in technology grounded organizations. The HUOLS degree deals with the consistently growing and changing complex of engaged leadership in various organizations that mostly base on relying on technology on the daily basis. HUOLS degree is characterized by the provision of empowering approach to the practice to leaders in various firms. HUOLS degree duration takes 15 Semester Hours, but the USCOL degree requires a total of 120 hours of study. The USCOL degree is also offered regarding the fulltime model student under which it expected to take nearly two years. This model regards entails a student attending the class in-person, but it also requires that part-time learners should take lighter course load. USCOL degree enables the students to focus on employer and employees issues, the study of the law, policy, and organizations and comprehension of the workplace dynamics. On the contrary, students undertaking HUOLS degree would focus on leadership and administration principles and undertake accepted organizational leadership and supervision model. The degree also focuses on enhancement and recognition legal, professional behaviours and ethical models in organizations. HUOLS degree focuses on many other essential units like application technological skills to execute the solutions that related with organizational leadership. Some of the dependent factors include the status of residency, the College selected for attendance and career level. Other factors include the year of attendance, hours planned for the course. The university has some additional fixed charges such as student service fees, tuition consolidated fees, university centre fees and recreation and wellness fees. The issues that will make me implement the tasks as yes rather than no include issues such as fee charges. USCOL degree has better models regarding fees charges. Their system is more elaborate and has a smaller charge as compared to HUOLS leadership degree. The HUOLS leadership should reform its fees plan to ensure that it is straightforward and easily determinable without being very much variant on small issues. Contrastingly few people can easily undertake the job. The return on investment (ROI) is huge and rewarding since such a factor will result in many people selecting HUOLS leadership degree (Mariasingam, 2005). Such changes are vital in restructuring of fees plan or structure, avail both part-time and fulltime studies create opportunities for lighter course load on the part-time learners and introduce simpler calculated fees structure/ regime. Other notable reforms in the degree program should entail empowering of instructional support for the online program. Support for the required skills and enhancement of the online program quality or variety is very essential. My argument is to enhance the quality of Huston leadership degree through close monitoring and benchmarking from the University of Carolina. The system offered by the University of Carolina ahs some merits and demerits that Huston university can heavily borrow to empower itself.
