The junta has asked the election commission to design a new constitution that ensures that populist parties are unable to win elections in the future. Military and civil management have on and off been responsible for managing the country’s affairs and this is not the first time the military has taken over the state.

Despite the fact that peace has been restored in Bangkok post-coup, the junta does now show signs of lifting the martial law that has been imposing in the country.
