According to qualitydigest.com, Toyota and Ford are two of the most famous and successful companies around the word. They have employed Total Quality Management strategies which are their secret of that success. They bought million dollars to train thousands of their employees in Six Sigma academy, six sigma is one of the most important strategies of TQM. They also have followed different strategies of TQM in order to better achievement and sustainable success. Quality is a demand of every single company since it’s the bright road to better achievement. Applying some tools of Total Quality Management is the secret of that successful. The most important strategies of Total Quality Management that should be established in the successful companies are quality circle, quality improvement team, quality of human resources, and employing the six sigma as one of the strategies. First understanding and employing quality circle drive companies to success. The order of quality circle that will be following is starting from main management of the company through employees, product or service, and customer which ending in the company by getting higher income. First of all, employees are vital part of the companies since they are the people who are working to provide the service or production of the product. Only if the company has good employees, will it success. That is the reason of the hiring employee into the quality circle which will be the way of driving organization to success. According to Berry (1991), Managing the Total Quality Transformation, by the quality circle the employees should be wishful to share within the higher planning of Total Quality Management since their effort will be spent on, also staff will be more productively. That shows staff will be working with high quality in their work environment, if they participated in their department plan because they will spend their energy and time on it. Secondly, customer satisfaction is the only logical method to maintain the high level of progress and success in companies. If the company won the customer satisfaction which could be achieved by the quality circle, that will be reflected on the increase in production and in their income. Which means itll have the opportunity to achieve a high percentage of sales and to widening the scope of the customer. According to Nocero (2002), in his article “Seal of Approval” customer could control cost of products or services by their satisfaction. Therefore, the dynamic of having happy customer is the quality of the product which is reflected on the success of companies. That shows success of the company can be driven by customer satisfaction, if the staff share to plan that would lead them to work productively and seriously. As a result, that will be ended by achieving better productivity which will reflected positively on customer satisfaction, it also goes back to benefits the company. Quality circle should be established in company since it is one of the most important strategies of TQM that leads to success. Second companies should provide quality improvement team to lead companies to success. Quality improvement team is one of the most important parts of TQM since it solves problems that cost a lot of money, and use more energy that it should be. QI team should have some employees who faced the issues while they were working in department that has issue which means they shouldn’t be new employees. According to Berry (1991), Managing the Total Quality Transformation, quality improvement team should have 5-7 people from the department that faced issues since they are familiar with the problem that is in their department. Also, members of QI team who are from the department that has an issue they should have background information about it. That helps to reduce using of time to find solution and the energy by using the information from department issue employees since it is their work environment. Additionally, the way in which the team uses to solve problem is analytical method. Using this way helps to find long-term solutions. According to Berry (1991), Managing the Total Quality Transformation, QI team analyzes the issue, breaks it down into small pieces and finds effective solutions that can be worked for a long time. That shows analyzing the problem helps to see the issue from different stand point which let QI team to think about in simple details. Moreover, it helps to discover the causes. The importance of providing QI team lies in figure out what the causes of the problems are. Also, to find out what is the most effective solution that could work for a long time. The secret of having members from the department that has a problem is to help the team to save time and energy since they know a great amount of information that were tried to solve the problems. Having QI team as one of company strategies is the guide of succeed one of the most important strategies of TQM that should be established in company to lead it to success. Third human resources should be managed effectively and efficiently to lead companies to success. First of all, existing employees obtain to have training, which requires careful selection of candidates. According to Gorge & Weimerskirch (1994), Total Quality Management, managing the quality of human resources is to choose who should have training and in what in order to get full achievements of the goal of that training. That will reflect positively for the department. Also, that choice should be focused on employees who need to improve their weakness. Changing weaknesses in staff is the reason of importance of managing training. In addition, jobs should be matched to the employee’s skills in addition to other requirements. Talent and skills should have more care while candidates for employment are chosen. According to Howard (2008), Total Quality Management Now Applies to Managing Talent, putting a right person in the wrong job is the most common problem in companies. There are personal skills that ought to be considered during the interview and count that while the interviewee select candidates. Selecting system for existing and new employees needs to be managed perfectly. Managing the quality of human resources is one of the most important strategies of TQM that should be established in company to lead it to success. Fourth six sigma should be employed in the companies to lead them to success. Six sigma is a technique that is using in companies as a road of success. The concept of six sigma is to care about the smallest details. According to Brue, Six Sigma for Managers (2002), six sigma urges to know everything that you don’t have an idea about it in your company. Moreover, it helps to discover the effect of some details that you don’t mention about it. Also, it makes the leader to do reaction to limit the errors that wasted time, money, chances, and customers. That shows the meaning of six sigma is to let the leaders to know all details about their company, which make them do reaction that goes back to benefit to the company. Additionally, the goal of six sigma is to eliminate defects by following some steps. There are five tools of six sigma process should be followed such as, defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, controlling. According to Brue, Six Sigma for Managers (2002), “Philosophy of managing that focuses on eliminating defects through practices that emphasize understanding, measuring, and improving processes.” Additionally, the practices are the steps that help to eliminate defects which are five steps, the first step is defining the problem and the requirement. The second step is measuring the performance in the company and compare it with their plans. The third step is finding the root causes of poor performance or defect by analyzing process. The fourth step is addressing the root causes to better improvement. The fifth step is to control the improvement. That means measuring the level of moving away from the plan or results that was supposed to be followed or achieved are the perfect way to eliminating defects, to avoid do it again, and to get better improvement. Moreover, quality is a reason of doing six sigma. According to Brue, Six Sigma for Managers (2002), ’’Six sigma is the value and impact of committing to quality as a goal in very practical way.’’ That means maintain a certain level of quality requires follow six sigma as rule of the organization. Six sigma is one of the most successful techniques that lead to know details to reduce defects by their reaction which lead to success. Six sigma is one of the smartest strategies of TQM that should be established in company to lead it to success. In conclusion, business needs specific strategies in order to continue its success, also for being in higher levels of progress. Total Quality Management has many different techniques which can lead companies to success. Focusing on customer demands is the way to produce their needed with high quality. Moreover, their demands can be given by employees’ effort while they spend it to product or serve them. Employing quality circle for employees and customers is important to be established in which could lead companies to success. Additionally, quality improvement team is one of the smartest techniques of TQM, especially by analyzing the problem, and by having some members of QI team from the issues department. The leader of the organization should know the small details about his company by using six sigma strategies. Moreover, the employees need to be chosen carefully while they are candidate to position or to training by managing the quality of human resources in the organization. Six sigma is used to measure the defects and to avoid it.
