A Systems Consultant also assists in the troubleshooting and resolution of system problems for the completion of a project.

Duties of a Systems Consultant include but are not limited to operating systems, performing basic installations, preparing the software and testing it for the processing of documents, distributing of software, planning, and scheduling the project milestones for timely delivery of the project, software troubleshooting, determination of the time for management escalation, being up-to-date on the latest enhancements made to the software. The Systems Consultant may be required to provide support on call during off hours.

They also carry out on-site field testing as well as analysis of results at the facilities of the client. Outlook for New GraduatesTypical starting salary growth opportunities for an individual with a degree in Information Systems is plentiful in the present age. From the year 2010 to the year 2020, the projected growth in employment by 18 percent is faster than average whereas the average salary of an Information Systems Technologist ranges up to $52,000 which is also above average (Diploma Guide, 2013).
