Extract of sample "Human Resource in Organization"

In one of our courses, we were assigned a group task to prepare a report, and the professor assigned three persons in each team to complete the task jointly. Our job was to prepare a report and present it to the teacher on the given deadline. It was a team effort and we hardly go through different stages before finally settling for what is expected from each of us and how we can contribute individually and as a team to achieve our common objective.

One of the key challenges for us as a team was to first decide who is going to do what because previously, we are simply unaware of the strengths of each other. We never knew as to whether which team member had a particular set of skills that can help us to complete the assignment with ease.

Initially, during the forming phase of the team, each team member was also unaware of how to define our objectives and who will be the team leader. My experience during this phase suggested that this is probably the most difficult phase as we struggled to find a leader within our team who can coordinate with all other team members and also with the professor. It was a relatively difficult task because we didn’t know who possess such quality.

It is also important to note also that few of our team members have other assignments too and were finding it difficult to give proper time. During this phase, I have specifically learned how team members can actually but towards each other and distribute the work in a manner that doesn’t put much burden on any single team member. As a, have we distributed the work manner that allowed each of us to complete up to that part of the work which can be easily managed?

Overall, my experience was relatively good as I learned a great deal of how to deal with people and how to become an effective communicator. To be effective with a team, it is important to have good and clear communication skills because they allow you to better communicate your message and also understand what other team members have to communicate to you. Overall, it was a good experience to develop relationships with more of my classmates.
