Extended Disk Leadership This analysis has been of great importance as it has enabled me to realize my potential as an organizational leader, by revealing some features in me that are connected or essential to leadership, and which I did not know. Leadership is not an easy thing that just anybody can do; however, there are some essential features that one must posses for them to be in a position of leading other people and even organizing organizations. I always see myself as a good communicator or possessing good communication skills which are essential for a good leader.

I always like being clear and precise in my discussions and directions. And from the Extended Disc analysis, I have just learned that a good leader should always ensure that instructions that are given are not done in a negative way. They should be clear and easy to understand, as this substantially minimizes the chances of misunderstanding (Extended Disk Leadership Analysis, 2011). When talking to people or workers, it is important to put on a smiling face so that people can interact with the leader (Extended Disk Leadership Analysis, 2011).

I also like making people happy by engaging them in conversations as well as making some few jokes which can at least make them laugh and keep them in good mood, a characteristic that I have just learned that is also important in the delivering of message to the intended group. Whenever I heard about motivation, motivation, what always came to my mind was the rewarding of workers by giving them things such as money or even promotion, but I did not know that there are some other forms of motivation.

I am a very cool and social person, qualities that I have just learned that are also important for a good leader. Many people usually think that a leader should be a person who can be feared by his or her subjects so that they can not dare to go against the wishes or instructions given. I have just realized that this is a very wrong notion, as a leader who is feared is a threat to the organization as it is possible that the subjects will not be free to share ideas with him or her. Considering the fact that I am social, I believe that this can motivate my subjects as they would be free to tell me anything that they feel is important that I should know, as I will have created a conducive environment for their operations, which consequently motivates them to perform better.

One thing that I do not always like is making all the decisions of most of the decisions in whichever group that I am part of. This is a characteristic that a good leader should posses as no one is always one hundred percent right. All the stakeholders should always be involved, as some of the workers who are normally overlooked or even considered as lesser beings always have some good and constructive ideas that can help in the growth of an organization to a large extend. When the employees are involved in the decision making process, they are made to feel as if they are part of the organization, which even motivates them further (Extended Disk Leadership Analysis, 2011).

Therefore, this Extended Disc analysis has been of great importance to me since it has enabled me to see the qualities of a good leader that I did not know.
