Literature Search Literature Search Getting people on board: Discursive leadership for consensus building in team meetings” by Ruth Wodak, et al. This article discusses the various behaviors of the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) who chair management meetings and how they affect the outcomes of such meetings. There were five relevant discursive strategies which were found to be utilized by CEOs in the decision-making process. Wodak, Kwon and Clark identified these strategies as bonding, encouraging, directing, modulating and re/committing (2011).

The study pointed out that the chair of the meeting influences the outcome of the meeting in both positive and negative ways through the discursive strategy that they employ. Using the various discursive strategies, the chair of the meeting could be in control the interactions within the team (Wodak, et al, 2011). In conclusion, the article mentioned that the likelihood of achieving a durable consensus increases with an egalitarian leadership style (Wodak, et al, 2011).2. “Do leaders really need to be tired?

A sustainable view of leadership development and the vital leader” by Martine Cannon The article focuses on the topic of burnout among leaders of organizations. It aims to delve deeper on the advantages of developing a vital leadership team. The paper also suggests guidelines on how companies can have sustainable leaders which could affect the vitality of the workforce. It also presents organizational norms that may adversely affect the vitality of leaders in performing their duties and responsibilities in their companies (Cannon, 2011).
