The need of innovation and continuous improvement depends upon several factors, such as types of products that are produced, business environment and several key organizational factors. Effective leadership strategy, organizational culture, significant team goal development, innovation, creativity and effective management of team performance can help an organization to avoid several obstacles that can affect the performance of a firm. In addition, several global organizations focus on workplace diversity program to integrate the employees of different cultural background with the organizational culture and values. It is important for an organization to develop effective and improved workplace culture to maintain significant and hazard free business operations. Team Goals Leading organizations always try to develop effective team goals to meet organizational goals and objectives. (A) Specific team goals need to be developed by the leaders or managers as a significant part of team performance plan. Clear and shared team goals provide several advantages to the team performances. Effective team goals can help the managers to communicate with the team members about the specific role of the team. It can guide the team members in planning and development process. It helps the team members or employees within a small team to complete assigned tasks within a given period of time. Managers or leaders can easily evaluate the performance and outcome of a team work through these developed team goals. In addition, appropriate team goals can reduce the threat of group or team conflict within the workplace of an organization. (B) Several organizations implement various strategies to enhance creativity and innovation among the team within the workplace. Reward creativity, support creativity, workplace diversity and positive working environment are the four strategies that can enhance creativity and innovation among the team members. Effective reward distribution can motivate the skilled and talented employees to generate innovative ideas. It will help to complete the team project successfully. Support creativity strategy can help employees to take calculated risk in order to achieve significant project outcome. Workplace diversity will help to exchange different ideas among the employees. It can enhance the decision making process. Positive working environment can inspire the employees to perform well to achieve personal and professional objectives with greater flexibility. Innovation and Creativity Creativity is known as generation of several innovative ideas. On the other hand, innovation is the transformation of new ideas into a new organization, product, service or a process. (A) Several leading organizations are trying to differentiate their business operation through the implementation of innovative and creative business strategies. The demand for workplace creativity from the employees of an organization is rising in this age of technological revolution. Innovative leadership style can help an organization to change and implement new ideas and strategies in the workplace (Grivas and Puccio, 2011, p.123). Creative thinking and innovation are useful during the strategic planning process. Effective workplace diversity, work distribution and significant reward system are some examples of innovative and creative leadership style. (B) Several leading organizations are trying to implement new innovative management strategies in the workplace to achieve successful project output. Innovation teams, linking innovation with operation processes, and anonymity & confidentiality are three key strategies that can enhance innovation and creativity. First of all, the organizations need to recruit and select skilled employees. Then the management of the organization should provide effective training and development program in order to develop their knowledge and skills about several operation processes. It can motivate the employees to generate innovative ideas among a team within the workplace. The organizations should link the innovation with the operation processes. This will increase the core competency of the organization. Lastly, anonymity & confidentiality can help the managers to motivate the employees to share their innovative suggestions about any operation process. Managing Team Performance Management of team performance has become quite difficult and complex task for the managers of the organization in this 21st century. It is important that the human resource management or the team manager need to focus on effective management of team performance to maintain effective workplace culture. (A) The managers need to effectively plan, monitor and evaluate the team performance. Effective evaluation will help to measure overall effectiveness of an organization. The management of a particular organization implements several team performance management strategies to enhance team performance. The managers generally plan a team performance framework based on the operational goals and objectives (Watkins and Doug, 2009, p.13). Then they monitor the process after implementing it in the workplace. Effective evaluation of team performance can help the management to develop future strategies based on the effectiveness of the implemented process or framework. (B) Team performance need to be effectively evaluated and monitored in a workplace. First of all, the management of the organization should achieve appropriate data and information about the performance of all the team members. Long database can complex the measurement and evaluation process. Secondly, the management of the organization should develop effective metrics objectives. It can ease the performance evaluation process of entire team. Lastly, the managers should consider multiple workplace aspects and compare with the original finding. This strategy can provide effective evaluation result. After the completion of the evaluation process, the managers should try to take decision about future strategy development process in case of any challenges or problems. Diversity Several multinational organizations are implementing workplace diversity process in global market to ensure effective organizational culture. (A) Workplace diversity helps an organization to integrate people or individuals from different cultural background to the organizational culture by giving respect to the cultures of all the employees within the workplace. For example, McDonalds try to adopt regional cultural aspects to operate effectively in several global emerging business markets. Effective workplace diversity can increase the amount of collaborative work practices. In addition, it enhances effective team work (Culbert, 2010, p. 71). The management of a particular global organization tries to adopt workplace diversity program to reduce the threat and challenges of workplace conflicts in international business market. (B) It is essential for a multinational organization to value the local culture of the operating country. Workplace diversity can be enhanced in several ways. First of all, the organizations need to recruit a local team manager or team leader from that operating international country. This strategy will help the organization to recruit effective and skilled local employees. Moreover, threat of language barrier in workplace communication process can be overcome through this. Secondly, the team leader should divide the entire workforce into several small teams. This will reduce the problem of communication gap among the employees. Lastly, the organization should try to engage skilled and effective employees in the decision making process. It is quite important for the organizations to maintain effective workplace culture through workplace diversity in several global business markets. Team Support Structures Several leading organizations are trying to retain their effective employees in this competitive business environment in order to secure their core competency. Effective and skilled employees are considered as major assets of an organization. (A) It is highly important to provide teams with the supportive structures during the forming and Norming team development stage. In forming stage, the management of the organization develops clear objective and direct the team towards the developed objectives (Denning, 2010, p.23). Teams with supportive structure can effectively understand the objective. In addition, this will help to negotiate a team charter. In storming stage, management of the organization develops effective process and structure. Teams with supportive structure helps to build significant relationships between the team members. Lack of supportive structure may create several workplace conflicts that can affect the team performance. (B) It is important for the management of the organization to develop effective strategies to guide and support team members. First of all, the organizations should provide effective training and development process to their employees. They need to educate the employees about the effectiveness of collaborative work. Effective team work can ease the job stress of all the team members. Secondly, the management of the organization should guide the employees towards the goals and objectives based on their abilities. The team leaders need to implement several leadership strategies based on the behaviour, attitude and motivation of the employees. Lastly, the organization should try to introduce horizontal organizational structure to some of extent. It can enhance the communication process at all the levels of entire organization. Team Leadership Team leaders have the major responsibility to drive the team towards successful output. (A) Team leaders generally develop several tools and framework in order to enhance team development and team performance process. Tuckman’s model of team development can be implemented in this part of study to explain the importance of leadership to a group of team. Five stages of Tuckman model are Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing and Adjourning. During the forming stage, the leaders develop clear ideas and direct his or her team towards the objective with the help of supportive structure. The leaders observe the behaviours of individuals and issues associated with the team. During the storming stage, the leaders try to overcome all the team conflicts through effective collaboration and diversification process. Leaders try to motivate the people towards job responsibility to reduce the real issues (Wakeman, 2010, p.39). During the norming stage, the leaders try to develop mutual plan and goal for the entire team. It can enhance the team performance. The team members generally try to provide effective performance without supervision during this stage. Lastly, the leaders try to carry out the process of unformed groups during this adjourning stage. (B) Effective and appropriate leadership style can enhance effective team performance. The team leaders need to maintain appropriate leadership style based on the attitude and behaviour of team members. There are four types of leadership styles, such as supporting, directing, delegating and coaching. In addition, the team leaders or the managers can implement change strategies in order to improve the environment of current workplace environment. Innovation and creative ideas can signify the leadership skill. Conclusion Global business environment has become highly competitive due to the presence of several leading and potential organizations. The organizations are trying to develop effective strategic plan to enhance their workplace environment. Several organizations are focusing on innovation and creativity in their decision making process regarding the improvement of workplace culture. Effective team performance management, significant leadership strategy and workplace diversity are required for all the global organizations in order to achieve successful output from the business operation.
