Project Change and Revision Project Change and Revisions Packaging is meant to make a product look appealing to the customers and also make it portable. In this scenario, the changes proposed include rectification of the product mispelt names and utilization of the most recent picture of the product. Failure to carry out those changes could reduce product quality. This in turn could lead to decrease in sales volume and cause the company incur substantial amount of losses. This could have further forced customers shift to other products because of the notion that products being offered were imitation of other products (Edwards, 2011).

The proposed changes could have affected project scope whereby project managers could have been forced to restructure their project scope to attain specified features. In addition, the change could have improved the quality of products in order to attain specified features. This could have further led to an increase in customer’s loyalty towards the products manufactured by the company (Calver & Taylor, 2007). On the other hand, products/service quality could have helped to reduce project risk by ensuring that products produced are of high quality standards.

Connectively, packaging rectification could have helped the product conform to customer’s requirements. Additionally, project scheduling could have been affected because the duration of product completion could have increased due to restructuring activities (Demeulemeester & Herroelen, 2011). The least three possible courses of action to be taken include firing product engineers, taking products with defects into the market and ignoring the defects. The implication of firing the product engineers could have caused the company to incur additional cost of hiring new engineers.

On the contrary, selling defective products could have caused company’s sales to decrease because customers may not be willing to purchase defective goods (Jones & Columbia University, 1989). Connectively, ignoring the defects on products could cause company sales and profitability to fall substantially sales. Therefore, I would recommend the product engineers to be careful during the preliminary stages of product packaging. Consequently; the proposed changes must be communicated repeatedly to avoid having poor quality of products at the end.

This is because the problem will be identified before they occur. Therefore, I would recommend the C.E.O to fire the entire product engineer department because they are incompetitive and this may make the company to incur substantial losses. In addition, defects should be fixed immediately at the moment when they have been identified. Additionally, if the system has an error, the C.E.O must be informed immediately in order to take the necessary course of actions (Sennewald & Christman, 2008).

The ethical consequences regarding quality may be determined by the project managers. Whereby, some of those consequences could be either advantageous or disadvantageous to both the client and consumer. Quality means that product or the service offered conform to customer specifications. This in turn can help to reduce the cost of rework, scrap and waste whereby making the clients and customers become satisfied with the products and services being offered (Pfeifer, 2002). On the other hand, poor quality means that client do not receive the services as per their anticipation, in this regard, the client may opt to go elsewhere to obtain better services.

Similary, if the consumer fails to get quality products, they may be tempted to try other products else where. This may further cause a decrease in sales. Therefore, project manager should strive to provide quality goods and services (Pfeifer, 2002). In above connection, quality issues could become legal issues in several ways for instance; the government may intervene where a given company produces goods or services that jeopardize the lives of citizens. Similarly, the company may produce goods that do not conform to the specification, in such a scenario the customer may decide to file a suit in the court of law and hence the quality issue becomes a legal issue (Sears & Clough, 2010).

Ethical and legal issues of quality can be prevented by ensuring that all employees become responsible and accountable of their action. In addition, organization policies should be clear and precise whereby every stake holder should follow them to the later. Similarly, organization goals should be valued as well as ensuring that customers have been respected because they are the one who keep the organization moving (Mandal, 2010). Connectively, ethical issues should be clearly stated and be availed to all the employees.

Quality should be kept as per the specification but that doesn’t mean that unethical means can be used to achieve this goal. Conclusively, the company should adhere to all the government rules and regulations to avoid legal issues which may result to company incurring unnecessary costs (Mandal, 2010).
