Ford Motor Company is one such organization that incorporates large volume of innovation into its product lines. The majority of the top rated vehicles all over the world are the contribution of Ford Motors.

The secret behind the success Ford Motors is its constant effort to meet the needs of its consumers with new ideas and features. Being innovative is the key to developing new technology. Ford Motors is never unenthusiastic in adopting new technologies. Ford Motors always upholds the view that in order to be successful, it must be environmentally and socially responsible. Its keen attempts to reduce incessant car exhaust emissions led it to developing catalytic converters that are useful in minimizing harmful emissions.

Experimentations with the hybrid technology enabled it to manufacture sports utility vehicles with unprecedented innovations. Apart from technology, Ford has a stern look on its product designs and models. Customers often wish that their suppliers provide vehicles those combine power and safety. Ford has never gone back in meeting these requirements; instead, added further features to it (Phoenix Business). Innovation is happening in almost all the areas of Ford’s business. Those grounds include new features to electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and more conventional engines such as clean diesel and the tremendous fuel economy advances that the organization has opened up at Ford on gasoline engines.

Another innovation that Ford Motors experimented was not in its products but in the supportive elements. The organization took to generate electricity by using wind turbines on its sites to provide full of the electricity needed for its operations. This was worthwhile that the company found success in it. Ford Motor Company is not just imitating other organizations. What it does is employing creativity in whatever it does (Ernst & Young). Each company is supposed to implement a Corporate Social Responsibility program.

It depicts the character of the company and the concern for the society in which it functions. Ford Motors have occupied a top position among companies in the world that best fulfill corporate social responsibility. Ever since it has assed Corporate Social Responsibility to its title, the organization has ensured its participation in the fight for labor rights of workers all over the world. Ford has outdone the government standards for corporate social responsibility and continues its endeavor for a safer and cleaner world.

As a part of its corporate social responsibility, it has made numerous researches on reducing pollution due to the use of gasoline and diesel. As Kinzel states, when other firms aim at maximizing their profits, Ford Motors is trying to provide affordable, reliable, and quality vehicles according to the desires of the new generation. In short, Ford Motors takes up the responsibility of providing quality, safe and affordable vehicles to their consumers while supporting the entire community. While analyzing the corporate history of Ford Motor Company, it is evident that the company has made amendments to its management style from time to time.

Traditionally, the Ford’s management style encourages interaction between the personnel and consumers regarding the needs and requirements throughout the purchase process. The company believes that this strategy would assist them to maintain the share of the automotive market. Earlier, the company employed vertical integration strategy to stay ahead of its competitors as it assisted the company to eradicate supplier inefficiencies and to control the effective flow of raw materials. In addition, the company is so bureaucratic in its supply chain management and follows a rigid production structure.

In order to overcome the profitability downturn experienced during the last decade, the company planned a drastic revamp of its management style by proposing a “dramatic shift to a less bureaucratic and more responsive and flexible management style with the ability to produce vehicles that will lure customers away from hot Japanese models” (Personnel Research Federation, 25). As part of this strategy, company announced a number of factory shutdowns and heavy job cuts. The new management style redesigned the company’s manufacturing methods so as to ensure that “workers are more productive and less wasteful” (Personnel Research Federation, 25).

Ford’s present management style fosters employee creativity and employee participation in decision making. The conflict management style developed by Alan R. Mulally, the present CEO of the Ford, has greatly assisted the company to be the only one Detroit automaker that did not receive the US government sponsored bailout during the 2009 global financial crisis.
