Ever since it has assed Corporate Social Responsibility to its title, the organization has ensured its participation in the fight for labor rights of workers all over the world. Ford has outdone the government standards for corporate social responsibility and continues its endeavor for a safer and cleaner world. As a part of its corporate social responsibility, it has made numerous researches on reducing pollution due to the use of gasoline and diesel. As Kinzel states, when other firms aim at maximizing their profits, Ford Motors is trying to provide affordable, reliable, and quality vehicles according to the desires of the new generation. In short, Ford Motors takes up the responsibility of providing quality, safe and affordable vehicles to their consumers while supporting the entire community. While analyzing the corporate history of Ford Motor Company, it is evident that the company has made amendments to its management style from time to time. Traditionally, the Ford’s management style encourages interaction between the personnel and consumers regarding the needs and requirements throughout the purchase process. The company believes that this strategy would assist them to maintain the share of the automotive market. Earlier, the company employed vertical integration strategy to stay ahead of its competitors as it assisted the company to eradicate supplier inefficiencies and to control the effective flow of raw materials. In addition, the company is so bureaucratic in its supply chain management and follows a rigid production structure. In order to overcome the profitability downturn experienced during the last decade, the company planned a drastic revamp of its management style by proposing a “dramatic shift to a less bureaucratic and more responsive and flexible management style with the ability to produce vehicles that will lure customers away from hot Japanese models” (Personnel Research Federation, 25). As part of this strategy, company announced a number of factory shutdowns and heavy job cuts. Ford’s present management style fosters employee creativity and employee participation in decision making. The conflict management style developed by Alan R. Mulally, the present CEO of the Ford, has greatly assisted the company to be the only one Detroit automaker that did not receive the US government sponsored bailout during the 2009 global financial crisis.
