The paper "China and Sustainable Development" is an outstanding example of a macro & microeconomics research paper. Sustainability has become an important focus of most nations across the globe. Rapid industrialization and depletion of resources have led to the loss of ecological balance and has negatively impacted the climatic conditions. Such grave consequences have made nations highly conscious of their activities. A large number of investments have been made by most nations of the globe to implement sustainable practices across the globe.

The current paper is related to the evaluation of different sustainable practices undertaken in the nation of China and their influences upon society. China is one of the most successful developing nations of the globe which has been able to meet the needs of sustainability effectively. The current research is a dedicated effort towards the evaluation of the sustainability practices undertaken by the nation. Sustainability refers to adapting a production process that meets the needs of the present and future generations.

The subject matter of sustainability incorporates adhering to such a production system which do not compromise the ability of future generations and facilitate maintaining an adequate balance of life. Rapid resource depletion and the declining environmental conditions were seen to provide greater impetus towards the adoption of sustainability in the commercial world. Most firms, across the globe, are therefore required to abide by sustainability norms and contribute towards improving the quality of the environment.

In China, rapid industrialization and the increased participation in global business have led firms to create an increased environmental footprint. Degradation of the quality of the environment, loss of valuable resources, fall in the level of water tables, soil erosion and desertification have emerged as matters of concern. In fact, the nation of China has overtaken the U.S in terms of carbon emissions. Almost seven of the world’s most polluted cities are located in China. 90% of the water bodies of the nation are severely polluted (Royal Geography Society, 2014).

Such factors have led government authorities and commercial institutions to jointly take initiatives towards the implementation of sustainable practices.
