Agriculture in Nova Scotia Agriculture in Nova Scotia Nova Scotia province in Annapolis County is my chosen area of study that isconvenient with the economic activity I have selected for an industrial park. The region for the location of the industrial park is in Sydney. Travel routes for the epic scenery that includes the Cabot Trail surround the province. Every route connecting different places in the province provides the history of the land. The province has abundant wildlife and seascapes scenery.

Naturally, Nova Scotia province is known for its seafood specialties such as lobster, mussels, halibut and clams. There is also an award winning wines that are grown in the heart of Annapolis Valley, and it adds a complement to seafood dishes. The economic status of the province is stable. Economic feature is also expected to grow by 2.5% in 2015, as the manufacturing of AOPS will be beginning. The growth of the economy in Nova Scotia is due to the investment and exports done away from the consumption of the households, residential and the government investment.

The production profit made at Port Hawkesbury Paper, as well as the demand for fish and farm products, boosted the NS goods export in 2013 by 10.1%. The economic status of Nova Scotia province is encouraging investment as there are no challenges of economic recession. This status of the economy will support the industrial activity that can be established in the area. The establishment of this industrial park for agriculture therefore will boost this program by a good percentage. Another need for the establishment of this specialized industrial park is to provide employment to the unemployed people who are seeking for jobs. Most of the young women are unemployed and the industrial park can be a good basis for the unemployment problem.

Farm produce is highly needed in Canada to compliment with the sea produce that include different types of fish. Agricultural produce establishment will meet the need for the farm produce locally and outside the province in order to feed the increasing population. The locally produced goods will also provide a cheap market due to the increase in competition. Through increasing the local agricultural profile, the market for local produce as well will be strengthened. Therefore, the young investors and entrepreneurs will be attracted to the agricultural industry.

Economic impacts that could be made by the agricultural industrial park Farming is one of the agriculture industry that can located in the park. This industry can involve the growing of horticultural products, fruits and vegetables. Fishing is also another industry on its own that will include layering of fisheries in fishponds. The construction of such industries in the line of agriculture would have a large impact on the economy of Nova Scotia province. During the construction of the industrial park, more investments will be attracted which will boost the economy status.

Jobs will be created, and more money will be invested in the industry. During its operation, food production will be increased that will cub and control the inflation problem. In addition, exports of the produce can be exported to earn the province with foreign exchange. By doing this, the economy of the Nova Scotia, will be affected positively. In the process of its operation, indigenous technology development especially the biotechnology will be promoted. There are other services that would be promoted such as the transport and delivery services, sustainability and conservation services that will lead to rising in the economy.

Government infrastructure needed in the park development The government however is much needed in the success of the agricultural, industrial park. Some measures should be taken in the infrastructure to support the agricultural development. Roads that are accessing the park and also connecting to different places such as markets and stores for raw materials. This infrastructure will facilitate the delivery of goods and services as well as the raw materials into the industry. The government needs to invest in agricultural research and development to enhance easy and fast research on the improvements that need to be done on the land for agriculture.

They also need to put measures in protecting the environment and as well conserving the natural resources. Agricultural education and training also need to be redirected to promote the required skills in the agriculture sector. Labor and skills requirement Both the skilled and non-skilled labor will be required in the agriculture industrial park. Skilled personnel will be required in matters pertaining to development and managerial skills. Researches need to be done and planning that requires the skilled labor.

Since the Agricultural Awareness office has enhanced the program of agriculture in schools, there will be no difficult procedures in obtaining the skilled labor force. Interviews will be conducted to seek for the qualified staffs for the skilled labor. On the other hand, semi-skilled labor will be required for the manual work since agriculture involves much of manual than machine work. These people will play a big role in the development of the agriculture industrial park. The determination of these personnel can be done randomly in order for the non-skilled to benefit from the job opportunity, as well.

In conclusion, the agriculture industrial park will be seeking to produce quality food products that will expand the market in the region of Nova Scotia province. The industry will also work with the aim of meeting the demand and expectations of the consumers in the market through effective research and developments.
