At face value, spending $855 million on security for an event that will only last one month may seem impractical. However, evaluating the scenario reveals that the long term benefits actually equate the cost. With improved security, businesses will flourish and foreign investors will be interested in the country. From an economic point of view, it can be considered as spending money to secure future stability and, eventually, financial returns.
